Chapter 2

I guess I made my way to my bed... I really can't remember though. It is 7:30am so I guess I fell to sleep here. All I remember was fixing

the fire, reading my book for 30 minutes, and then staring at the wall. Why do I stare at the wall? I don't really even know that myself.

Today I have to go to the mall to pick out a dress for the Winter Wonderland dance. Even though we are on Christmas break, my High

school still has a dance on Christmas Eve. I don't have anybody to go with, but I still go to be with the others. I can't be a hermit and

stay at home all day.

I get up, brush my teeth, shower, and fix my hair to look decent. I throw on an outfit that is from last year, and put on my coat. Gloves next, and then shoes. I knew I would need those boots! I slip them on

and grab my purse. I open the basement door and Dad is standing there.

He looks normal. Like anybody does. Except for the fact that he hasn't got any coat on. It's like 15 degrees out there. "Good Morning

Jamie. Off to town I assume?" he says.

I shake my head. Sometimes I think that they think that I can't talk.

I walked around him and jogged up to my car. It had 3 inches of snow on it, but Carson, my oldest brother, was out getting the snow off of

it. I smiled right as he looked up, "Hey! I missed you kido! Long time no see!" he said. I smiled again, and barley shook my head up and down

and he chuckled. "How's the 11th grade? Got a boyfriend yet?" he said as he nudged my shoulder.

I looked at him and laughed, "Nope" I said still laughing a bit.

"Well, I heard you rustling around downstairs, so I came out and dusted off your car for you," he said as he opened the door for me. It was really warm in the car, he had turned it on so I wouldn't freeze.

"Thanks Carson," I said as I shut the door. I started to pull out of the drive and he waved. I could talk to Carson, he was 23, but he did understand me.
