Prologue

Morty's P.O.V
It's been almost three years since rick left...ever since he did ive been the worst I could be, depressed and sleep deprived. Summer always stays up with me because she knows how much rick meant to me and I never told him about how I felt about him.
"I'm sorry rick..."
I whispered into summer.
She rubbed my back as I cried into her, it was about 3:35 am summer didn't care much because she cared about me more than herself because she knows what I'd do if she left my side..

After a while I finally fell asleep, I woke up on the couch by myself and sleepily sat up I found a note on the table in...ricks handwriting?!
I picked it up and read it

Morty I feel like shit for leaving you and summer and beth, I know I meant a lot to you...I'm sorry I'm on a different planet, a different dimension in a different timeline. I'm sorry for doing this I need a break from everything...I might come back some day I don't know yet. I love you morty don't ever forget about that.

I smiled slightly and walked to the garage knowing him he would have left something for me, I was right. There was a box on the ground and a note that said
  Press the button when you miss me
I smiled and picked it up then put it in my room on a shelf in my room. Summer came in my room
"Did you get the note from grandpa rick?"
I smiled thinking about it.
"Yeah..yeah I did."
Summer smiled and rubbed my back a bit.
"Follow me"
She got up and I did to, she walked to ricks room and opened the door.
"Wh-what are we doing in-"
There was a lab coat for me with a portal gun and another note.
Come find me~
Summer smiled at me and motioned for me to put on the lab coat, I did. It smelled like rick and I smiled widely.
"I'll come with you morty we find grampa rick together"
I just nod and shot a portal.
"Let's go"
