"Where did I go wrong,
I lost a friend,
Somewhere along,
In the bitterness,
and I would have stayed up with you all night,
Had I known,
How to save a life."
A/N: Oh please note that I will only put up Chapter 1 unless I get a lot of feedback or uh, votes and such, if it doesn't seem like people like it, I might take it down :)
Here it is.

Snap out of that daze, Violet! Called my mom that evening. I'd been staring out the kitchen window, across the street to a house, of where lived a boy who was always with someone, someone he loved. Oh how happy he must be.
I was suppose to be helping my mom make some cookies for her open house as she rushed around to try to sell this house. I don't get why she would want to, this was a beautiful house that had belonged to my great-grandparents. The french doors were the colour of mahogany, the carpet soft, and brown of which I liked to curl my toes on and feel the warmth surround my feet. The house always had a faint scent of violets, my mom loved them. I guess that's how she named me. I didn't want to leave this house but my mom had wanted to sell this house and move in with her new boyfriend, Evan. She says they are perfect for each other although I constantly see them fighting. It's wrong to be with someone you don't love, isn't it?
I, once again, found myself staring out the window. From the house across the street, in one little room, the highest one in the house, were two silhouettes, entwined together, in a embrace. To feel one's body warmth against your own, to hear the faint thump thump of some else's heart beat, and to feel their breath against your own. Maybe I'm just daydreaming as a girl but that's what I want. But how will I achieve that?
"Violet!" My mother called again as she snaps me out of my dream world, her voice more stern than the last time she called me. "Hurry up!" That's my mom. Gentle as a lamb, strong as a warrior and scary as the devil. I have always looked up to her, every since I was just a little girl.
"I'm coming," I mutter as I scoop up the tray of rocky road cookies and set them down on a table in the living room just as I was mobbed by a group of hyperactive, messy little kids. I step away gingerly, trying not to bump into anyone and slowly made my way to my bedroom.
Truth was, I wasn't allowed in my room during open houses but I use my window to get onto the roof. Dangerous as it can be, and with having the fear of heights, it's where I can breath. I feel choked up when I'm around a crowd. Maybe I'm claustrophobic but that's just a guess.
I slowly push open my door that was taped with different bands and lyrics. I enter my intimate room and creep slowly to the window. To my surprise, it was opened, maybe to air the room out for showings. I crawl out and stand on the ledge of my window and push myself up and onto the roof, nearly slipping as I scramble on. I exhale a breath of relief and sit down and wrapped my arms around my knees.
In the distance, the sun began to set although it was only quarter after seven. I pull out my iPod and shove my headphones on my head as music began filling my ears, directing away from reality but to a world that can only be found within music and I slowly closed my eyes.
The day slips past me quickly and before I knew it, it was dark and night time. I shivered and decided it was time for me to go back in. I hopped off our coal black roof and back inside my window just as I hear my mom storming around the house yelling my name.
