I look at myself in the mirror. Should I change my clothes? Wait why do I care? It's only Mason. I walk out of the room and find Lily in the kitchen.
"Hey I'm going to someone's house to start a project."
"Who?"
"Oh no one, just a new kid"
She nearly spits out her water. "No one! Those new kids are crazy hot! Which one is it, Aiden, or Mason?"
"Mason and how do you know them?"
"I don't know them, but the whole school is talking about them." She stops and gives a me an evil smirk. "Does my little Esme have a boyfriend?"
I blush, "what? No, that's ridiculous! He's just my lab partner."
She stays smiling, "okay whatever you say, future Mrs. Mason"
I roll my eyes at her, "yeah whatever. I'll be back later, make sure they get dinner okay?" I lock the door behind me and get in my car heading towards his house.
***
I pull up to the driveway of the most beautiful house, sorry mansion, I've ever seen in my entire life. It seemed to glow, and it had flowers and green everywhere. Of course this is where he lives, he could of only come from Olympus.
I sit there in my car not sure what do to. Do I park it somewhere or just leave it where it was? Just then Mason comes out of his house with a smile on his face. I roll down the window so he could talk to me. "Glad you could make it. You can leave your car there no one should be coming today, so you won't be blocked off."
I park my car there and Mason opens my car door for me. "Thanks," I smile back at him. "You're house is beautiful."
"Well it's not just my house, we live with several different families. It let's us afford the place and just makes it easier to stay in contact with everyone."
I nod and head inside, right as you enter you see a giant crystal chandelier overhead, and a grad staircase, which leads to different hallways. I'm instantly greeted with the smell of cookies and my stomach starts to rumble. All I've had to eat today was an apple.
"You hungry?" Mason asks.
"A little, but I can't take food from you guys."
"Oh shush," he grabs my hand and I instantly see him tense up, then relax. To be honest I did the same. The second we touched it was like the sparks were magnified, and it caught me off guard. He leads me to the kitchen, which makes my yaw drop in the beauty of it. I love to cook and bake and this kitchen was like paradise. It was huge and had mainly wood and marble for the cabinets, drawers, and floors. The island in the middle was magnificent and big enough to be able to do whatever you wanted on it without running out of space. There were fresh herbs by the windows, and held a perfect view of outside.
It was beautiful. Mason's chuckles bring me back. "You look like a kid at Christmas." He's staring at me with adoring eyes, making my heart skip a beat, as I feel myself blush unwillingly.
Just as I turn away from him I see a woman standing there with a tray of cookies.
"Hi! You must be Esmeralda. I'm Janet, Mason's mom." She puts down the tray and gives me a hug catching me off guard. "Would you like a cookie, I made them just for you." I grab one and smile. This is what it must feel like to have a mom.
"Thank you."
"Grab more if you'd like, I can hear your stomach growling." She laughs.
"I'm okay. Thank you." But in my head all I could think was,"was my stomach really that loud?"
