Swimming with Sirens

"Set sail to the deepest trench!" Jamie ordered his men. Looking out to the beautiful ocean.

The sun was just setting. The heavily breezes had died down to flat air. The seas were just settling, a perfect night to capture a mermaid.

"Are you sure you want to do this cap'n" Jamie heard from a distance.

As he turned around to see who it as no one was there. Jamie turned back around to look out at the ocean, but his best mate Fox was right besides him.

"Jesus Fox! What are you doing sneaking around here like that."

Fox was a tall red head with tan freckles. But what brought out his face the most was his bright greenish eyes. In his early thirties Fox and Jamie go way back, way back before the pirate days. The days when name titles mattered and your father married you off to a rich maiden.

"I ain't sneak'in around, I'm making sure your making the right choice here-" Fox said in a very gentle voice before Jamie had cut him off.

"I'm am!" Jamie said with no hesitation.

"You don't have to follow the king's orders, we're free men out here on these seas. You can runaway from this and you know it."

"I don't want to run all my life Fox. We've been running all of our lives and I'm tired of running and you of most people should know that."

"Our lives are just beginning, your only 22. Who knows if the King will keep his promise or not. Your risking everything!"

"Then let this mission fall on my terms"

Fox just walked away knowing that Jamie wasn't going to change his mind on his ridiculous plan. He knew he wasn't backing out.

Skylar may I speak to you?" As the King Of The Seven Seas entered his daughters cave.

The King of the sea was a wise merman, King Niel. He cared for his people and of course his children, father of three. Felix, the oldest and the one who is to take his fathers place in ruling the seas. Reena, the second oldest who is kind and gentle. Then there's Skylar. Skylar was a bit ruthless and self centered girl. After their mother mysteriously disappeared Skylar has never been the same. She used to be like her sister, Reena, sweet and gentle.

" Sure, I guess so" Skyler replied.

Skylar was a jaw dropper around the kingdom if seen. Long brown curly hair which covered her smooth light brown skin. Sky's tail was a beautiful turquoise which shimmered under the suns rays.

"You weren't in your room last night. Where were you?

"Why do you care? I'm here now aren't I?"

King Niel raised an eyebrow.

"Skylar this isn't a joke, this is serious. If something ever happened to you I will never forgive myself. I wasn't there once, but never again.

Skylar shook her head

"That's your problem"

"I am at my last wits with you Skylar. I can't take it anymore. I'm trying, I'm really trying here Sky but-"

"Not hard enough" Skylar mumbled under her breath.

King Neil raised his voice and began to yell.

"This isn't a joke anymore! There are pirates on their way, maybe the same one that took your mother! For now on there will be guards outside your room so even if you attempt to leave..... oh! You don't want know what they will do."

King Niel left Skylar's room feeling so angry with his daughter.

As King Niel swam away fromSkylar's room she was preparing herself to runaway.
'Pirates, huh? Maybe I can find my mother' she thought to herself.

Skylar thought of the air pocket in her room that led to the ocean. Skylar was only so small the last time she went in there. Maybe she could still fit.

"Go fetch the nets, men" Jamie hollered to his men. "And please, men don't get attached to their beauty"

Fox didn't want to attend this adventure. He've heared way too many stories of how men have gotten away from an attack. But that is his mate and he needs to be at his side if all hell decides to breaks loose.

"We only need one mermaid men, nothing more!" Fox blurted to the men.

"Nets in the water!" Jamie ordered his men.

"Um...Cap'n there's a mermaid already a board.
