Sometimes the rain refuses to fall
But sometimes it sympathises with my tears
Flowing down and washing away
all the pain and the dirt
all the blemishes and the insecurities
Widening the cracks of my heart
as they widen cracks in pavements
Wearing me down steadily
as they wear down rocks
Loosening the glue that holds things together
As they loosen the pieces of me still in place
Rain wipes things away
and paves the way for a new start.
Tears wipe the pain away
cleansing the anguish of the heart.
