Pretty Smiles

Behind most pretty smiles, is a broken heart.
Behind most pretty smiles, is a wounded heart.
Smiles hide away the pain that you have inside so no one will know what you're feeling.
Smiles hide away the sorrow so they won't know what you're dealing.
Smiles are like illusions so you won't see the pain that's undeniably clear. You may see a pretty smile, but I see depression, sorrow and fear.

That's a poem I wrote a while back when things were not looking good. Getting yelled at for no apparent reason, being ignored, my choir class not caring. ALL THAT! But, I'm good now. Hopefully.

Have you ever seen a girl or guy with the most BEAUTIFUL smile? You just want to stare at the way they smile all the time, right? But, have you ever wondered if they're hiding something? A terrible secret that's so freaking tragic, it's UNBEARABLE to take in. Seeing them so depressed at a time when it seem like they were so happy. They're asking you questions that's hard to give an answer because you've never been in their situation. You see them not smiling for days..... For weeks.... For months. Wishing to see their beautiful smile. If you have experienced this before. I've been in your shoes or been in that depressed person shoes. It's not an okay situation.

It's not cool to be depressed. Seeing everyone around you so happy and you're not. It just makes you want to cry every time you see a life. But, sometimes you don't show it. You HIDE the fact that you are in A MOMENT OF SADNESS by putting on a FAKE SMILE that's so BEAUTIFUL, NO ONE can SEE that you're in a DARK situation where EVERY THING is in the shadows. FEAR takes over, DISCOURAGE, WEARY, DOUBT, NEGATIVITY, ANYTHING that brings you down, TAKES you down EVEN FURTHER. DEPRESSION IS NOT AN OKAY FEELING.
