21. Friends

3rd P.O.V

Grell jumped into the lake causing his body to go into shock almost immediately. Somehow he managed to fight it and grab William's arm before making it back to the surface of the water. He dragged the unconscious William onto the concrete before checking his pulse and breathing, both of which were very weak. He grabbed William's coat and pulled it over him before turning to his wrists. They were both seeping out blood and it would be very difficult to stop them. Grell heard sirens and sighed in relief.

"Don't die on me William." He warned.

Grell's P.O.V

I sighed in relief when paramedics ran up to me and began helping William.

"Sir, What's your name?" A paramedic asked me.

"I'm Grell. That's William." The paramedic passed me a towel/blanket.

"Can you tell me what happened?" He questioned and I told him everything I saw.
"Do you know what have caused him to do this?" He questioned once more.

"A few days ago his daughter was killed. His parents died less than 10 years ago." He nodded his head before taking William into the ambulance.

William's P.O.V

I opened my eyes and immediately shut them again. I menaced to open hem again slowly, unsure of my surroundings. I was in a white room and I was freezing. The only source of heat was lying over my hand and I looked to see Grell sat next to me, holding my hand. He was asleep yet still holding my had as if he let go he would loose me. Aching pains came from everywhere, especially my head and wrists.

'Why am I here?' I thought to myself before Grell began to stir. As cliche as it is, Grell's eyes fluttered open and when he saw me awake he jumped on me, mumbling something I couldn't understand.

"What?" I questioned after he got off me. He only hugged me for a few seconds, but the contact made my body heat up.

"I thought you were gone! You've been unconscious for 3 days!" Tears slipped out of his eyes and it broke my heart.

"What happened? I remember leaving the house and then walking up here?" Grell's jaw dropped.

"William, you went to the lake and tried to kill yourself." It was my turn to be gobsmacked.
"You slit your wrists on some glass and fell into the semi-frozen lake! I got there just in time to jump in after you!" Tears streamed down his face and I could feel them falling down mine.

"Grell, I'm sorry-" I began only to be interrupted by a knock on the door.
Grell got up to open the door and let the visitors in.

"Guess who I found?" Ronald walked in, a few scratches still present on his face, causing me to feel guilty. An easily recognisable Ciel and Sebastian walked in the room, both looking extremely grim.
I saw them both at Grace's funeral but didn't bother talking to them.

"William, you have our deepest sympathies." I nodded my head at Sebastian's sentence.

"No. You are an idiot." Ciel began and I prepared myself for the rant.
"Why would you try to kill yourself? Do you know how many lives you would have destroyed? Grell would be heartbroken, causing Ronald to be glum. Grell probably would have killed himself. Then Sebastian wouldn't have anyone to pester him and keep him on his toes, basically meaning he would be bored and boring to be around!" I sighed and nodded my head. Ciel was selfish but right. Ever since his parents had died Sebastian has stuck by his side.

"I'm sorry. I was drunk, I didn't know what I was doing."

"And now you make it sound like you slept with your boyfriend's sister!" I was confused at his statement but shrugged it off. I guess I'm going to have to get used to having all these people around me.
