The rain pelts against my fur, my breath heavy as we march across the muddy land. I can see his red stripes proudly walking in the front, my dull eyes sparkling as I watched the other tom have so much confidence. Beside me, Blizzardshine is muttering to herself. The she-cat's eyes bloodshot due to her insomnia.

"Halt," our squad leader orders, the dappled cat raising her tail to an erect position. I do as told, nearly falling over due to the suddenness of the order. I rest my tail tip on Blizzardshine's silver fur, the she-cat faltering to a stop as well. We were close to the war zone, I could scent the blood and misery through the rain. It sent shivers down my spine.

"We're nearing our station," Otterthorn says, her narrowed, golden eyes looking over our group. Despite the fact that she was barely a moon older than Blizzardshine and myself, our squad leader was one of the most frightening cats, "Do not enter combat, and avoid it at all means necessary. We're only here to gather out wounded clanmates."

"Yes ma'am!" we chorus, though my eyes were focused on the flaming red pelt next to our dappled leader. A smirk was on his face. Why? I never took him as much of a gatherer, Foxtuft was our greatest assassin. As Blizzardshine was our smartest cat, as I had the best sense of smell.

"You two," he flicks his ears to us two, my heart doing a little flip, "The best cats here, no offense, we have another mission. Come along." The flaming tom walks toward the war zone, pausing and waving his tail at us impatiently.

Sparrowjaw gives me a glare, the tom was always jealous of me due to my skill. Thankfully, as Blizzardshine and I slowly walk toward Foxtuft, no other cat seemed to really care that we were running off to another mission. We stopped by the large oak, a camping area near the top of the war crater. The assassin turning to glance back at us, a more serious look in his eyes.

"We're going to infiltrate LarkClan," Foxtuft explains, flicking his tail. My eyes widen, Blizzardshine takes a step back. Her eyes scanned the crater of death, then went back to the flaming tom. "Any questions?"

"And, haha, well I'm sure you've figured it all out," the silver she-cat remarked sarcastically, a shiver going down my spine as her personality harshly turned, "How exactly are we going to sneak in? Huh, Mr. I've figured everything out?"

"Well, haha, you better watch that tongue of ours unless you want me to cut it out— which I'll gladly do," Foxtuft bites back, a sadistic glimmer in his eyes as he threatened my friend.

I frantically look back and forth between the two, my whiskers twitching as I scented the hate boiling from them. "Captain, Blizzardshine," I speak softly, my voice not as confident as normal. Was this because of him? "Please, we're supposed to work together, not fight!"

"Hm, we'll get back to this later," he winks at Blizzardshine, his tail waving back and forth. Jealousy rushes through me. Why? "Anyways, my plan is that we get caught."

The cat beside me was about to snap again, her ears pressing against her skull. I quickly react, placing my tail-tip on her muzzle. "Uhm, is that really.. playing the surprise game?" I manage to ask amongst the tension, "M-maybe if we use all our skills, we can be more suc-"

"Nah, all we need is me," Foxtuft says confidently, "You two can cover for me while I use my assassin skills and quickly and gracefully kill Aspenstar!"

"This is the all loved Captain Foxtuft at this finest," Blizzardshine mutters, I resist the urge to jab her in the side with my claw.

"Now, amateurs," we both flinch at the calling, "Ready to get caught?"

fact of the day // blizzardshine constantly changes her personality. the reason is unknown, though twigpetal has confirmed that it's not because she's mentally ill.
