the more i stared at the ceiling, the more i thought of things i shouldn't have. i didn't feel like getting up and doing something productive, i just wanted to sit here and do nothing.

the more i thought about it, i figured that it was pretty lonely in the castle. it was just me, my parents who constantly bugged me even though i technically ruled over them now, and the servants. i didn't talk to anyone outside the castle and i didn't know why.

i guess i was scared. i didn't want a repeat of what happened last time.

my best friend, vic, had moved away when i was ten. we had been friends ever since i could remember. suddenly, one day he broke the news that he was going to move away and it broke my heart.

we were together every day. we would always run through the woods and talk in the treehouse him and his dad built.

it all crashed down though. i didn't even know where they were moving. but when vic broke the news to me, he started to cry.

i didn't want to think about that again, for the thousandth time. but my mind was still on him and i couldn't get it off.

[flashback]

"you can't catch me!" i giggled and sprinted through the sidewalks of the town. i accidentally shoved people but all that was running through my mind was to not get tagged by vic.

"kellin slow down!" I heard vic yell from behind me, sounding like he was out of breath.

i took a sharp turn and hid behind a wall. catching my breath, i hoped vic wouldn't find me.

i did think i was alone until someone i pushed me to the ground. i yelped and hit the ground, hard. vic stopped smiling when he saw my face.

i looked at my arm, which i noticed was i scratched up and bleeding in some spots. i touched the area with my finger softly, scared to hurt myself even more.

"oh," i said, staring at the scab weirdly.

"i'll take you to my house, my mommy can help you," he ran off and i followed him. i held my arm just incase too.

when we reached vic's house, vic yelled for him mom to help me. vic's mother rushed to help bandage up my arm.

it was done quickly and we were glad.

"i'm sorry, kells," vic apologized.

"it's okay, it didn't hurt that bad," vic still felt guilty though, he didn't like seeing people hurt.

when we stood in silence for a couple seconds, I poked vic's arm, "tag, you're it."

i started running outside and vic whined, "hey! that's not fair!"

"don't whine, you baby!"

"i'm not a baby!" vic whined again, standing on the porch and looking at me, who was on the forest ground.

"what a cute wittle baby," i said in a baby voice. vic was getting slightly annoyed but he knew i was just joking.

he crossed his arms, "you're annoying."

"says the little baby," i laughed and vic glared before running toward me.

[end]

"kellin!" a shrill voice cuts me out of my daze.

sighing, i threw the ivory colored sheets off of my body and trudged out of the room. i was soon approached by the owner of the annoying call, my mother, eying me wairly.
