Emma's point of view, next day

"I'm gonna take Ava out to see Harry. I don't know when I'll be back." I said to Tom as I walked past him in the living room. Because he had his mouth full of coffee and couldn't speak, he gave me a nod.

I headed outside and put Ava in her car seat. Her big, blue-green eyes looked up at me as I strapped her in, and I couldn't help but notice the resemblance between her and Harry. She was starting to look even more like him than she did before.

"Dad's little twin, huh?" I cooed at her in a silly voice, making her smile. If life only was as simple as it is in a baby's eyes...

I finished strapping her in and then I got into the driver's seat and began driving. Five minutes later, I parked the car in Harry's driveway, the driveway that once used to be ours together. It was crazy to think that it had been almost a year since the last time I was here.

I got out of the car and picked up Ava from her seat. Then, I walked up to the door and rang the doorbell.

As I was stood there waiting for Harry to open the door, I realized just how nervous I was. I guess that just with all the awkwardness between Harry and I, I'm never really ready to go and see him.

"Hey." Harry said with a small smile as he opened the door.

"Hi." I replied, walking inside. Harry closed the door behind me as I walked into the living room. As I entered the room, I got little flashbacks from the day we broke up. I swore I could see Harry storming out of the room and hearing a loud bang from the door.

"You okay?" Harry asked, making me come back to reality.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I replied, faking a smile. I wasn't fine at all. I just wanted to get out of this place immediately. "I'm just gonna go use the bathroom." I said, handing Ava to Harry. He nodded as I walked away to the bathroom.

I locked the door behind me and then leaned against it as I dialed Tom's number. I started pacing around the room waiting for him to answer, but he didn't. I tried calling him again, but he didn't answer the second time either. Or third.

Eventually, I just gave up and headed back to the living room, where Harry sat on the couch with Ava in his lap. He was making silly faces at her to make her smile while taking pictures of her.

I sat down on the couch, making sure to leave some space between us.

"My mom and Gemma are on a plane right now to come and meet Ava. They'll be here tomorrow morning." Harry informed me, putting away his phone.

"When should I drop off Ava, then?" I asked.

"They want to see you, too, Emma. They both miss you like crazy. You're basically all they ever talk about when I'm on the phone with them." He said.

"Really?" I asked and he nodded. "Well, I miss them too, so why not."

I looked around the room again, and this time I could see myself walking through the front door and walking to the couch. Only a few minutes before it was all over.

"I can tell you find it uncomfortable being here." Harry said.

I didn't say anything back. I couldn't find the right words to do so.
