There was a little girl named April. Her parents always fight. Everytime they argue she locked herself in her room, sat quietly in the corner while covered her ears and shut her eyes tightly. She disliked the sound of their bickering, it only cause her pain.
The next day got worse, she heard vases breaking and their bickering only got louder. She cried. She thought that nobody cared about her, her parents just fought and they haven't even thought about her. She felt she's not important. She felt she's unloved.
She tired of their fights so the only thing she'd think about was to run away from home. When she she did not hear the tormenting sound, she sneaked out. She run away from home not knowing where her feet will lead her. When she was tired of running she found herself in a park. And in that park there was a big tree. She sat under it hugging her knees and sobbing quietly. Then suddenly she heard a voice.
" Are you alright?" A boy her age asked.
" I'm f-fine," she said between sobs.
" Well clearly you don't look fine to me. Here-- take this."
April didn't respond. She just kept quiet and recieved the scarp lend by him.
" Mind telling me your problem?" the boy asked and sat beside her.
April didn't speak. She just sat still sobbing quietly. "Nobody cares for me, so why does this boy bother to ask me what my problem is?" she thought.
After a long silence, April finally murmured. "Nobody cares about me," but the boy heard her clearly.
" Mom and dad always fight. Even once they did'nt notice me and consider how I feel. They kept on bickering and bickering. They don't love me." she said while tears continue rolling down from her eyes which started to puff. She used the scarp owned by him and wipe her tears dropping to her cheeks.
The boy didn't say anything, he just plainly looked at April. Then he chuckled.
April looked at him angrily. " Why are ypu laughing?"
The boy stopped and ruffled her hair.....
" Silly girl, yes your parents always fight but they love you." he said.
" What?" April confusedly asked while wiping her tears through his scarp.
" No matter how unloved you feel, no matter how you think you're not important and you don't make a difference, but you still do. There is always someone watching you, loving you... There is always someone who will miss you if you are not around." He said as he stood up.
" So don't cry anymore, OK?" The boy said while smiling and handing April a hand.
" Okay." April mumbled as she took the boy's hand. His hand brought a sort of comfort to her troubled mind.
When April got home, her parents said they're worried about her and apologized for always fighting. April realized what the boy meant in his words and hugged her parents.
" We loved you April," her father said.
" So don't make us worry, OK?" her mother said while hugging her tightly.
Relieved, April managed to smile to herself.
" Yes. Thanks to that boy. Finally, I understand." April murmured.
" But I forgot to asked his named! I wonder if, I will ever meet him again?"
She remember the scarp and realized after what happened in the park, she insert the scarp on her own pocket. She pull out suddenly, the unknown to April a familiar young boy watching her from outside of her house with a genuine smile on his face. She turned back starring at scarp.
Surely they'll meet again someday...........
