Tris

Chapter 10

I wake up, trying to figure out what happened last night. Examining my surroundings, I find myself in Tobias's and my room. Scratching my head, realizing my mouth has a sour taste and my stomach feels queasy. Then I remember, and roll over on the bed.

Tobias is still sleeping, and I look at him, realizing today is our wedding. His brown hair is covering his eyes, so I gently brush it away. He looks handsome, even in his sleep.

I look at the clock, and realize Tobias and I should get ready soon. I kiss him, and his eyes flutter open. "Wake up, my prince." He grunts, making me laugh.

We get dressed, and head out to the Pit. Dauntless Headquarters have cleared it for the day, hoping this will get Tobias to work as a Dauntless Leader. He already told me he would decline any offer that asks him to move his job away from mine.

We set up, Tobias doing the heavy work, and I'm doing the smaller details. I didn't want it this way, but Tobias said I had to take it easy because of my stomach. I love him, but he can be over protective. But since our world is violent, I understand why he protects me. At any second, someone like Edward could kill me.

Decorating takes forever, but we finally finish. Relived, I walk over to get a bottle of water. I drink the whole bottle instantly, and grab another one. Drinking this much water means I'm probably dehydrated. Crap.

I walk over to Tobias, and my head heats up. The world starts spinning like a top, and I lay down on the floor, not caring about how stupid I look. "Tobias..." I croak.

Tobias runs over, and kneels down, panic in his eyes. "Tris! Are-" I don't hear the rest, because I black out.

I wake up, lying on three chairs that were pulled together, and I have an ice pack on my head. Grunting, I look for Tobias, and find him pacing in circles a couple yards away. "Tobias..." He looks up, runs over to me, and lightly traces his fingers over my forehead. "Tris, you're burning up! How are you feeling?" "Nauseous, extremely tired, hungry, and my head hurts." Tobias nods, but I can tell that he's worried.

I look around, and realize that today is the wedding. "Are we still going to have the wedding?" He looks like he's thinking, as if he hadn't decided. "I don't know yet. I asked if we could reschedule, but the Pit isn't open for another ten months."

Thinking, I realize that we only have one choice. "Tobias, I can do it. We'll just cut the wedding short." With concern, he says,"Tris, are you sure?" I nod.

While I stand up, my back screams with pain, but I ignore it. Tobias picks me up, knowing that I can't stand myself. We go to our rooms, to get ready for the wedding.
