I woke up alone in bed, and saw a note on the nightstand.

"At the grocery store, be back soon. xoxo Jax. PS I put a new shirt in the bathroom, and new towels, and another pair of boxers."

I smiled at his note, slowly got out of bed, and went to the bathroom naked. I had slept naked. I turned on the hot water, and breathed in the steamy air. I went uder the water, and felt every drop hit my skin. I caught myself missing Jax. It felt wierd being alone in the house, without him. How could I be with one, but falling for his cousin. Justin or Jax. The choice seemed impossible. But I knew I had to. It wouldn't be fair, to string both them along.
As I finished showering, I could hear someone enter the house. It would either be Jax or Justin. I quickly put on the boxers and Jax' shirt. I frantically looked in the closet in the bedroom, and found a pair of sweetpants. After putting them on, I took a deep breath, and went downstairs.
And there Justin were standing there, with a big bouquet of white roses. I felt a lump in my throat. I felt bad, but also, I was still mad at Justin acting the way, that he did.
"Wearing his clothes huh?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Well you didn't come home with any of my own clothes." I looked at him, and felt an urge to cry, but I had to held my composure. I couldn't let him see any tears.
"We need to talk." He said so sternly.
"Yeah, we should." my answer felt cold. "We can talk in the livingroom."  as we entered the livingroom, we heard Jax come home. He had bought breakfast, and he almost dropped everything, when he saw Justin.
"Thought you would come home later."
"I couldn't let you be alone with my girlfriend any longer. She needs me, you know."
"Oh really, that why you wasn't home last night?" the air in the room went ice cold, as they both clenched their jaws.
"Guys, stop it, you don't need to be like that."
"Why are you defending him?" Justi looked at me with cold eyes.
"I'm not defending anyone! Damn it Justin!" I got up from the couch, shook my head. "We haven't even been together for a week, and you're already acting like a jealous husband!" I went to the kitchen, not looking back at Justin.
"COME BACK HERE!" Justin yelled at me, as he became  very angry. "DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM ME!" I fell down at my knees in the kitchen, and broke down. I couldn't handle his way of acting. Justin stormed into the kitchen, yelling. I tried to close my ears, to not hear his yelling.
"JUSTIN! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!" Jax grabbed Justins' shirt. "Don't you dare hurt her!"
"I CAME HERE TO TAALK TO HER!"
"THEN STOP YELLING!"
"GET OUT! GET OUT!" I screamed at Justin. "LEAVE ME ALONE! YOU DONT OWN ME! WE ARE DONE, WE ARE OVER!"
"What the hell! I didn't do anything wrong!"
"Nothing wrong?" I raised an eyebrow, with tearful eyes. "You chose to, not be there and help me, when I needed it! Your cousin, who had been working all day at the hospital, stayed up, to help me!"
"So now you're with him!" He looked like, he wanted to punch me. "Did you sleep with him?"
An awkward silence happened, and Justin knew it. He shook his head.
"Good thing I slept with my secretary last night."
"Then you are no better than me! If you actually stayed last night, nothing would have happened!"
"It would have happened, sooner or later." He snapped at me. "I'll deliver your stuff later!"
He stormed out, and left the house. I hid my face at my knees. It was too much. Jax was quickly to kneel down beside me, and put his arms around me. He held me tight, as he stroke my hair. He then held my chin, at looked deeply into my eyes.
"I'm here with you, everything will be fine, he can't hurt you." he kissed my forehead. "I'll take him out of the security system, and even change the password." He took me into his embrace, and held me tight. "I'll never let anything or anyone hurt you, never again." He picked me up gently, and took me to the livingroom and put me down on the couch. He sat behind me, with his arm around me, and cradled me, as I kept crying.

After hours of crying in Jax' embrace, I could hear my phone ringing.
"Want me to get that?" He said quietly.
"Yeah." I nodded, and crawled up in the corner of the couch. I grabbed a pillow and hugged it tightly.
"Mel, it's your sister. She wants to talk." I reached for my phone, and held it to my ear.
"Hey D." I I sniffled.
"Mel, for gods' sake, what happened?" She sounded so sincere. "What's wrong? Talk to me."
"I need my sister." I cried again.
"On my way, let me talk to Jax for a moment." I handed the phone to Jax.
"What's up Dhalya?"
"I'm on my way, can you make some coffee?"
"Yeah sure. See ya soon."
He put the phone on the table, and quickly went to the kitchen, so he could make coffee. As he finished making the coffee, he cam back to me, to sit behind me and cradle me once again. We sat there for around 20 minutes, until he had to let my sister through the gate. As she entered the livingroom, she looked at me, and saw the tears. She quickly ran to me, and threw her arms around me.
"Tell me what happened Mel." She cradled me, just like when I was a kid. "Mel, I can only help, if you tell me, what happened." I took a deep breath, and started to tell her. It tore me apart, and broke me into a million pieces. Dhalya listened, and cried with me. She held my hands tightly, and looked at me with pain in her eyes.
"I'm gonna make his life a living hell. I genuinely thought, that he was man enough to at least help you, and lashing out on you, the way he did, is not okay." she hugged me again. "if Jax is anything like Justin, then I want you to leave the city. Got it?"
"But what about a bout you sis?"
"Mel, I'll be fine, I can handle myself." she stroke my cheeks, and for a moment, I felt like a child again. "don't ever worry about me, I want you to be safe." she sighed. "I have to go again, I've got a job interview in town."
"Thanks for being here, and sorry for being the worst sister, you know at the hospital."
"Don't ever again say such thing, you are the best sister, you were frustrated, and in pain. And I was overprotective."
"I still feel bad about it, but hey, I love you D." we smiled at each other.
"love you too sis, take care." I hugged her tightly, and let her go.
"I'll cut your sacks, if you hurt her." she glared ice-cold at Jax.
"I'll guard her with my life." they nodded at each other. Then she left, and once again, I was alone with Jax. But this time, there wasn't a thing or anyone to be expected. We were free to do anything we wanted. I jumped into his arms, and kissed him.
"Let me cook dinner tonight." I smirked at him. He looked at me with a smile on his lips.
"sure thing, let me go to the grocery store, and buy everything you need."
"Sure, I need potatoes, butter, cream, barbecue sauce, mushrooms, baby carrots and two big steaks." He gasped from surprise.
"You are truly an angel sent from heaven!" he passionately grabbed my cheeks, and gave me a deep kiss.
"oh, and we should probably go shopping soon." my cheeks turned bright red.
"We could do that tomorrow." I nodded, and then he went downtown, to the grocery store.
I let myself sit on a chair by the window, and looked to the sky. It had a bright orange color, as the sun was slowly going down. His driveway was round, and in the middle, a big cherry tree stood proudly. I took in every impressions, to make new happiness in my life. I had to, in order to get better. I wanted to get better. I needed to get better.
After a while, Jax came back with the stuff from the grocery store. He smiled, as he saw me in the window. I stood up, and went outside to help him with carrying everything inside.
"Did you buy the whole store?" I gasped as I looked in the trunk of his car.
"I just thought, that we could use some of the things." he chuckled. "don't carry too much, you've still got your wound."
"I know, I know." I grabbed some of the light weighted things, and carried them inside. "you can just go watch some television, and I'll call for you, when dinner is ready."
"I want to sit in here, and watch you cook." he chuckled. "I love to watch you."
"Creep." I couldn't help but mock him.
"I can't help it, you're just so delicious. I could almost eat you."
"Again, creep." I stuck my tongue out at him. "why, you little...." he got over to me, and tickled me gently.
"stop it you goof, I gotta make you dinner." I laughed so much, that I almost couldn't breathe.
"Okay, okay, I'll stop, but you'll have to kiss me." I gently held his cheeks, and kissed his soft lips.
"now stop teasing me." he sat down on a kitchen chair, and turned on some relaxing music. I smiled to myself, and I could somehow still feel his lips on mine. I began to cut the mushrooms, and boil the potatoes, so I could make mashed potatoes. I fried the baby carrots in butter, so they would taste sweet. The mushrooms got fried in salt and pepper. The steaks were cooked medium rare. And after an hour of cooking, I looked at him, smiling.
"dinner is ready." he got up, and smiled.
"It smells seriously good, and it looks perfect." he kissed my cheeks, and grabbed two plates, while I grabbed knives and forks.
"I hope you like it." my cheeks felt hot. "I used to work at a cafe back in college, and I used to cook for my sister. She isn't really the type who cooks." we took our plates filled with food to the couch, so we could watch television, while we were eating. He dived in, and his eyes grew wide.
"you don't like it." sadness filled my gut.
"no, I don't."
"I'm so sorry." I thought he was angry.
"don't be." he looked at me genuinely. "I love it. This is by far the best food, I've ever had." he looked a little worried. "were you afraid of me?" I nodded nervously. He put our plates on the table, and took my hands. He kissed them gently.
"Mel, don't ever be afraid of me, I'll never do anything to hurt you." he put his arms around me, and padded me on my back. "I really want you to be happy."
"I guess, I just need time to adjust." I looked down, and I felt ashamed.
"Understandable, you've been through a lot." he nudged me, and smiled. "let's finish eating. I'll wash the dishes after, while you can relax in here."
I sat in silence, bite after bite, we got closer to finish dinner. I caught him a few times smiling towards me, and he caught me biting my lips each time.
"You gotta stop doing that." He smiled, as he stroke my cheeks.
"Stop doing what?"
"Biting your lips, it's kinda turns me on." his lips were turning bright red.
"Oh, sorry, I never thought about it." I smiled shyly.
"I'll be back soon, gotta wash the dishes for the princess." He winked at me, which made me laugh.
"Cute, really cute." I mocked his manly nature.
"I am far from cute, I'm a man, I'm strong, I'm brutal, and I'm a legend." he flexed his muscles. I almost fell down from the couch laughing. "You're pure evil princess."
"Hehe, but you like it."
"Hell yeah I do." He laughed, as he went to the kitchen.
I cuddled up in the corner of the couch with a blanket, and watched the news. The weather report was brutal, rain, rain, and much more rain.
"A storm is on it's way, and we recommend, that everyone stays inside. It looks like, it's going to be a big one." The newslady said with a rather startled voice.
"Hey Jax, there's a storm coming in. They say, it's a big one, and we should stay inside."
"Alright, I gotta secure the outdoor furnitures. Stay in here." He quickly went outside. The wind was already working up its strength. I went to the window facing the garden. I could see him run around securing the furnitures. It looked like, it was a challenge because of the wind. I caught myself, getting nervous. I never liked storms. They reminded of every painful thing, that I've been through. Suddenly the backdoor flew open, and Jax came in, and slammed the door.
"Heavens, I hate the storms around here." He put his arms around me. "But you're here."
"I'm here, and you're with me." I rested my head on his chest. I could hear his heartbeat. I felt the warmth of his skin through his shirt. We enjoyed this moment, as we stood together in silence, feeling each others warmth. The lights were flickering, and we looked up.
"Maybe we should turn off the light and go upstairs to cuddle, drink hot chocolate and watch movies." He suggested it, with a grin on his face.
"That would be nice, and you could keep me warm, and safe, because we HAVE to watch horror movies."
"Horror movies?"
"Yeah, or are they too scary for you?" I grinned.
"Hell no, I'll have the honor of keeping you both warm and safe." He chuckled, as I raised an eyebrow at him. He picked me up in his arms, carried me upstairs, after he had turned off the lights. He was so romantic and kind. He put me down on the bed, and put a blanket over me, just enough that I only had my head out, and went downstairs to make hot chocolate, and came back upstairs.
While we watched Friday the 13th, we laughed so hard, that we almost cried. We jumped several times from the shock factors. We almost didn't think about the storm outside. After 4 movies, we both fell asleep.
