In a town surrounded by misty forest, where every town people live as they were told. Avoiding dangers and mysteries, completely unaware that a wildest thought, could be true. Although, there are mystic stories told to the youngsters, keeping it as a reason, for them to always follow orders. In the end, you can't lock up a child's curiosity forever. The sun is up, and I was high in spirits. I was told by my fellow classmates that they want me to come with them into the forest, today. There are things they want to inspect, they said. Truthfully, they never really did befriend with me. I was surprised by their invitation. I thought there might be a change. I'm not a trouble child to begin with, honestly, I'm fine just being on my own. My mom always worried about me, that is what mother always does. I have no others, but mom, to trouble her is the last thing I have in mind. I was ready to live the day, as I was in front of the main door, carrying my backpack, I hear my mom calling me, telling me to be careful. She advised me not to go near the isolated mansion in the forest. I nod as I agreed, capturing her smile before I leave and wave her goodbye. I walk away from my house to meet up with my friends at our meeting place, waiting for each other. The last person arrives, and it's time to begin our journey. We all march together side by side, like comrades heading to a battlefield.
A couple of hands spread widely against our body, stopping us as we appear in a forest opening. Without a second thought, we take a step further. It is cold and calm at the same time. I could hear the sounds of nature with winds blowing through the forest. I caught myself thinking about the isolated mansion. Wondering how it looks like and perhaps know who lives in the mansion. I was told that there is a man who lives in the mansion, and he is more than just a man, someone that you don't want to associate with. Some said that they had seen the man before, but only a glimpse of it and some believe it's just a fantasy.
As we keep on walking, I realized that we have stopped near a cliff. Questions start to appear in my mind. What could we possibly do near this cliff ? I start to feel uneasy, as I look around me, somehow, it gives me shivers down my spine. I could feel as if someone else is watching us, and I can't keep the thought out of my head. I'm completely disturbed.
"Hey Jaune! Are you listening?" Said one of my friends.
"Sorry, what is it again?" I ask with a confusion.
"He said, jump off the cliff !" Another one of my friends state to me.
"Why?" I ask again. They were showing a frustrated face.
I put down my backpack and look down the cliff, it is high indeed. Suddenly, I feel a hand on my back, pushing me forward and I fall down the cliff. I was shocked as I covered my head, I couldn't bear to open my eyes and see, but I know I've hit a few things as I fall. Abruptly, I stop and found myself lying next to a massive stone covered with moss. Bruised and wounded, I can feel pain in every inch of my body. I can't recognize my surroundings, when I look up I feel like something crush inside of me. I know now, that I can't go back. I couldn't figure out what to do. Tired, I just lay next to the stone, giving up as I hug my knees, wishing for a speck of hope to befall upon me.
I keep on waiting, but there's not a single sign at all. I thought, I should use this moment to think of what I did wrong, trying to find the reason, with no answer, thoughts about something that might have change was just a lie. In the end, it's not a promising adventure, it's just a trick to get rid of a fooled boy. I lost my backpack, pretty much everything, and left with an injured body. My stomach was growling, and some parts of my clothes were torn. Soon enough, it started to rain. I know my luck can't get any worse than this. The rain washed away my wounds and bloods keeps on flowing out. The pain is worse than before, I try to hold on, but it's way too painful. I knew that they never really did like me, but all I wanted is just to get along and not make my mom worried. Let it be just pretend, as long as I could see her smile. I close my eyes, remembering my mom's proud smile this morning, as I could feel the sting of my injuries. It is very cold here, I might fall asleep. After all, I'm thankful that I did not break any part of my body.
