The Darkness Throughout: Book Two of the Andra Kingdom series [On Hold]

Chapter 1

This is the "sequal" to The Darkness Within. If you have not read that book, please do so before venturing onto this novel. If you do not, you will be VERY confused.

Chapter 1

Darkness.

It's all I see, all I fear, all I hear. 

It's what fuels my anger. My hate. 

This...hell. It's never ending. 

I can't tell how long I've been here. Hours, days, months, years...minutes? I cannot even hold onto a thought most of the time. 

I stumbled through this place. Sometimes given the grace of some reddish light, only to be scarred by what I see. I feel this tugging every now an then. Voices tell me to follow, to get to the entrance. I shake them off. 

At least I normally do. 

What's that? Have they come back for more. Little Bastards, fight me in a darkness they can only see within. 

Is that laughter? Children's laughter? No, it must be some allusion. They just want my guard down. 

I need to stop following these voices. If I don't they will take me. But what does it matter? I have no life here. No one can call this a life. I am worse of here than if I were dead.

The tugging sensation is stronger now. The voices clearer. The children's laughter now mixed with a mingling of voices. The air seems lighter now, not as thick with the dark acidic smell I've grown use to. The darkness is beginning to reside. But instead of the reddish haze that normally appears, it is natural light. The voices seem to be screaming now. Telling me only a few steps more. But to what?

"Hey! I'm walking here!" 

"Whoa, get some clothes on bud!" 

"Woohoo, hey hun!"

Light. I am in light. So much light. The air is clear, I can breathe. But there is so many people, they move all around me. Some walking, some running. So many voices at once, it's all too overwhelming. 

I stumble from the mass of people. Almost trip over a small dog attached to some fancy rope. 

What is this place? The trees and plants look much like those in Andra. But the buidlings in the distance, these people. Not at all Andra. 

"Hey buddy! Stop right where you are!" 

The light is too bright, I cannot see. I continue to stumble foward.

"Police! I said stop!" Hands grab at me pulling me to a stop.

"Come on bud, you can't just be stumbling around a family park dressed like this."

"I--I..." I don't have words. This place...what's happening?

"Yeah yeah, save it buddy. Rob, I still don't understand these guys. What's so good about these drugs if you end up like this?"

"Yeah, I feel you man."

"Where am I?" I manage to say. 

"Ah, man doesn't even know where he is, almost makes me feel bad for him." I feel a tugging as my arms are pulled tight behind me. 

"You are under arrest for..."
