Finn's P.O.V.

It had been 4 months since the shooting at the bank. 4 months without my mom. 4 months of me attempting to help my dad. But it had been to no avail. He had drank and smoked to the point where he landed himself in jail for 5 years. I now had no one.

My mom and my dad and been the only close family I had. Sure, we had aunts and uncles and cousins but my grandparents had disowned my parents from the family when they told them they didn't want to make me Christian.

I know, it's a stupid reason to disown your children, but that's how it was. My grandparents, their grandparents, and their grandparents grandparents had always been extremely strict about their religion. They didn't look at anyone who was anything but Christian, and they sure as hell weren't about to related to someone who wasn't.

Now that my dad was in jail and my mother was dead, I had no one, and no where to go. So I chose a state, a state far away from anyone. Somewhere where I could have a fresh start. Somewhere that I could escape to.

Kernington, Oregon. That was the town. I did some research, and it seemed nice enough. It was a tiny suburb town, not to far from a small city. I quickly took a deep breath, realizing what I was facing. I was going to move god knows how many miles away from my hometown for the first time.

Obviously I don't live in my parents- I mean, my dad's- house anymore, but I still live in this town. I had always dreamed of living in the perfect white picket fence up the road with a husband and 3 children. All girls (yes, I now realize that this would be hard (to say the least), but I was an only child and I would have done anything for a sister).

However, all of those memories were now ruined. My mothers death and everything that had followed suit destroyed my bubble and introduced me to the rest of my life. And I know that the rest of my life isn't going to be spent here.

But, back to Oregon. I have no idea how I am going to get there, when I'm going to get there, and what I'm going to do for money.

In North Carolina I had been a therapist. I found it so interesting how everyone has the same skin but underneath they're so different. Sadly I had to quit my job 4 months ago to grieve and attempt to take care of my dad. You and I both know how that ended.

With a small shake of my head I cleared my thoughts. Coincidentally, there was a knock on the front door of my childhood house where I had been staying. I wasn't expecting anyone, but I went and opened the door anyways.

In front of me stood the piece of work that was Haddley Morington. His dirty blonde hair stuck out in different directions, showing me that he had a rough night. The bags underneath his eyes proved that to be true.

I mentally sighed. I had had a crush on Haddley Morrington all through the 5th, 6th, and 7th grade, but that ended as soon as he started to date Layna, my sister. He cleared his throat as I realized I had been standing in the doorway.

"Hey! Haddley, what's up?" I asked, stepping out on the porch.

Haddley looked down at the ground with a small smile, and slowly looked up at me, a hand going up to his hair to fix it.

"Hey Finn." He said, winking. Haddley had been a huge flirt in high school and junior high, and I wasn't suprised to see that that hadn't changed. The thought caused me to laugh, as I wasn't about to let this guy walk over me.

"Nice try, Haddley, but we're not in high school anymore. If that's all you have to say- or do,- then I need to go." I said, turning back towards the door. Just as I was about to walk into my house, Haddley grabbed my hand and pulled me up to his chest. I quickly felt his other hand land on the small of my back and pull me closer to him as he leaned in and whispered something into my ear.

"I know you like me, so why don't you just invite me in and we can work sonething out?" He asked, his hand slowly moving down to my butt. My jaw dropped and I used my free hand to slap him across his cheek.

"You're disgusting." I growled into his face, before kneeing him in the balls. He immediately fell to his knee's, his hands covering the place I had just kneed.

"You... Love it." He said, taking pauses to gasp in pain.

My face grew into a small smile as I approached him and bent down.

"Not really." I whispered at him before putting my foot, with my red heels on, on his chest and pushed him backwards. He fell off of the side of my porch. I laughed evily and brushed my hands off before slamming the door behind me.

Haddley Morrington had always been a mystery. I guess that was why I always had such a big crush on him. But now that I know his true colors there is no chance I will ever even glace at him with anything but disgust. I heard a knock on the door, and Haddley yelling about how I owed him.

Snorting, I walked back up to my room and continued to do research about Kernington, Oregon. And that's when I realized. I need to leave this town as quick as possible.

A/N: And that's a wrap in chapter one! Sorry if it's kind of short. Btw, who's digging this kind of rebellious side of Finn? I know I am ;)

In this chapter Finn talks about losing her mom (and I guess her dad) and how she needs to start over. We also got a visit from middle school crush Haddley Morrington.

Also sorry if this chapter is boring! It was mostly just me introducing you guys to Finn. Do we like her? :)

But anyways, thanks for reading!
