Hello! I am Mizuno Yuki. I am a third year high school student. Oh and you know, I have a boyfriend, his name is Shin. He was my classmate and crush since we were in our first year, and he was my best friend! All this time, I tried to confess to him; however, I guess the God of Time won’t let me. I noticed that my timing is too bad but, I won’t give up!

Three weeks ago, my luck suddenly came and it turned out that our feelings were mutual! I can’t believe it! We both confessed at the place where we usually go to lunch together, at the school’s backyard, under a tree, only the two of us.

“Hey Yuki, let’s go.” Shin smiled.

“Sure.” I smiled back.

I was smiling all day because the two of us are walking together. Also, this is the time where I look forward the most! As usual, my heart still beats fast and I think I won’t get accustomed to this. Finally, we reached our destination. The gentle afternoon breeze and the birds are chirping. What a perfect day! But wait a minute… I think this is the right time to confess! It’s all about guts right? Women should have guts! Yes, that’s right! I’ll confess!

“Hey Yuki, what are you doing there? Standing and smiling like an idiot.” He chuckled. I noticed that he was already sitting down under the tree. Oh dear, he saw my uncool side. Ugh!

“I’m not an idiot!” I puffed my cheeks as I walked under the tree and sat down.

The two of us started eating. I was eating my lunch while he was eating his favourite melon bread. I did not mind until I realized one of my fresh spring rolls was missing. I looked at Shin and glared at him. “You stole one of my spring rolls, didn’t you?!”

“Stealth is what I have!” He was laughing loudly.

“Jeez! If you want to eat a homemade lunch, I can cook for you”, I mumbled under my breath as I continued to eat.

At first, he gaped while looking at me-- as if he couldn’t believe what I’ve said. “Really?!”, he exclaimed and now smiling like a child.

Oh Yuki, act mature. Be composed. Be cool. “Yeah. I can”, I said.

“Please! Please! Please do!”

“Okay then. Starting tomorrow, I’ll bring you packed lunch”, I said with a beam.

I noticed he got silent for a while. Looking at him intently, I could see that he’s thinking deeply. Like, he’s trying to say something but contemplating. I continued to observe him and then he looked at me seriously. “By the way… I have something to say. It’s really an important matter.”

My heart skipped a beat. I was taken aback at his serious expression. “Eh? Sure. What is it?”

“Please don’t be shocked”, he said.

“Yeah, yeah, sure.”

He took a deep breath and said, “Will you be my girlfriend?”

My eyes widened immediately and I choked on my food while blushing. “Wa-water ple-please…”

“Gah! Yuki are you okay?!” He immediately got my tumbler and let me drink the water.

“Of course I’m not okay, idiot!” I smacked his head.

“Ow!” He rubbed his head. He waited for me to calm down. “So… what do you think?” Again, he looked at me so seriously.

“You know… you’re so dense huh.” I stared at him.
