"Mm, okay. This seems pretty odd but i'm sure it's not that much to worry about, I think. My divine healing spell should work" Wendy mumbled, looking over Natsu's arms and legs. The skin held pin sized red and brown spots along the muscular appendages. Clicking her tongue happily she placed her small, experienced hands on his palms and cast the divine healing spell. The spots slowly all turned brown and disappeared. Natsu shivered as the spell worked its way into his body. Before the spell could complete itself it stopped. Wendy's magic dispersed into the air.
"Uh... Natsu-san you're resisting my magic" she put eloquently looking up at the older slayer. His eyes red from a lack of sleep, he blinked down at her and smiled nonchalantly.
"It's fine. I'm okay Wendy. I'm gonna go back to sleep" Natsu mumbles under his breath, leaning back into the pillow. His usually pointy eyes drooped downwards as bruised bags fell under them. His temperature rise slightly, making his skin feverish. Wendy brushed her hand over her teammates forehead and shook her head. Looking at the others in the hall she cast a wind spell on his body to keep him cool and hung her head as she walked out. Lucy and Happy instantly ran to question the girl about the dragon slayer while Erza and Master Makorav discussed the situation.
Gray leaned against the wall as Juvia mooned over him. Pointedly he looked at the floor as Wendy explained the situation, his interest somewhere else. His cruel blue eyes closed as he thought about the recent mission he took by himself, earning lots of jewel for buying some new things he needed at home.
"He's not responding to my magic, and he has an infection. I can't heal Natsu-san..." Wendy wailed into her small hands. The fifteen year old snuffled into her hands as she wiped her nose. This caught Gray's attention. 'Flame-brain's actually sick?'
"Well, maybe he should be off missions for a while. Send him home for a week and see if he's better" Erza suggested as she patted the young girl on the back. Lucy nodded in agreement to the suggestion as Happy flew into the room to retrieve the dragon slayer.
"I'll make an official announcement. Wendy, is this sickness contagious?" Makorav asked the girl. Gray looked up and huffed. If it was contagious he was glad he wasn't near the poor bastard.
"Oh great, just what we need. Ash-for-brain's making us sick enough to be held back from jobs" Gray commented as he pushed himself into the circle. In the meanwhile Lisanna went over to the slayers bed and wiped off a cold sweat from his scrunched face. His breathing was slightly labored. As Lisanna heard the contagious part she scuttled to the medical masks Porylusica gave them and ran over to Natsu with one in hand. She placed the mask over his mouth and nose carefully to prevent the spread of the germs.
"I don't know. It's nothing i've seen before" Wendy replied in a defeated state. Nodding Makorav grimaced his teeth.
"Unfortunately, I have no choice but to send the boy home" Makorav said with a grim expression. The rest of the crew looked down with solitude.
"Master, what if Porylusica can help?" Lucy quires, looking over as Happy coaxed Natsu into getting up from out of the bed. Stroking his mustache Makorav replies "We don't know if this is magic related. If he doesn't get better with rest we will ask Porylusica to step in"
Nodding Lucy turned back to the guild hall and left the area. Erza followed Makorav as he left to his office, trying to reason with him about a separate issue. Happy flew out of the room as Natsu wobbled out behind him, holding onto the wall as his chest heaved. His body broke out with a loose sweat and his eyes gleamed with discomfort. Looking over at Gray he straightened up and swallowed a large gulp of air and sauntered to the guild hall entrance, exiting the building with a gag. His skin was slightly paler than his usual tan flush.
Shrugging Gray sauntered up to the bar and ordered himself a cold beer.
"Natsu looks beat" Cana slurred at him as she chugged her twelfth barrel of beer.
"He's contagious" he retorted, his hand scratching the back of his head. The semi-spiked black tresses weaved between his fingers. Snorting Cana took another gulp of her drink and miffed at him.
"Here you go Gray, extra ice" Kiana stated as she placed the mug in front of him. He took a sip of the cold, burning liquid as it slid down his throat. Placing the mug down he tapped his outstretched fingers on the wooden counter. Abruptly a golden light flashed next to him as Loke appeared on the seat next to him.
"Hey Kiana! Get me a glass of wine!" he shouts out to the girl who was serving drinks to the men. He smiled seductively and turned his head to see Gray.
"Hey Gray, what's going on? Heard the hot-head is sick" he remarks to the ice mage.
"Che, that idiot deserves it" Gray utters at the celestial spirit. Swishing what was in his glass he looked into the cup. He wasn't going to admit he was slightly afraid for his comrade. 'That baka never gets sick' he frowned.
"He's gonna be fine" Loke says furrowing his brow. It didn't seem like a confident answer, but Gray would take that as reassurance. The lion spirit seemed to be hiding something though.
"You sure?" the ice wizard asks with a low tone. The Lion spirit doesn't answer and instead drinks the wine from his glass in front of him.
The silence wasn't that convincing.
