Seeing Someone You'd Rather Not

"Go look around the store, see if you can find a good scary mask." I said, running to the back. "Where are you going?" Colby yelled out to me. I turned around and laughed "Bro, I still have this stupid makeup shit on!" He started laughing and I kept running.

I got to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I scrubbed my face as hard as I could with soap and warm water. 

Elton is going to be so surprised I thought while dabbing my face with a paper towel (LOOK AT MY DAB! BITCH DAB😂😂😂😂 im sorry)

I stared into the mirror, thinking about everything that has happened. Thinking about how I'm going to tell him everything. Thinking about what good would come from it, if any at all. 

I sighed and walked out. I started to stroll and look though the isles. I found a mask, that looked perfect. It was a pale white with spider-like "webs" all over it. I smiled and chuckled to myself, thinking how evil the plan was. I was just about to turn and look for Colby, when I ran into a person.

I looked up and stood there in shock. I saw the evil hazel eyes that glared back at me. "H-Henry?" I managed to choke out. He grinned his stupid grin and nodded. "Long time no see, Quinn." He said. I started to back up, but he just got closer. I felt my heart race, my hands shake, and the mask drop. I wish I could have moved, speak, or do anything. It was like he was keeping me there, trying to break me down again. 

"We should meet up sometime. I wanted to talk to you abo-"

"Quinn?" Colby interrupted him. I blinked out of my trace and pushed Henry away. "Don't ever fucking go to me again you dickass." I whisper-shouted. I started to storm off, I felt like crying, but I didn't want others to see. Colby ran to me, "Yo, what's wrong?" 

"Please just buy the damn thing, I'll be in the car. Gimme your keys." I quickly said. He opened his mouth to speak, but closed it and nodded his head. "Here." I grabbed the keys and ran to his car. I jumped into the passenger seat, and started bawling my eyes out. All the memories started flooding back to me. I felt the same way I did months ago, sitting in my car in my driveway. Except I was in Colby's car. In a Party City parking space. 

I saw Colby walk out the door, and collected myself. I wiped my eyes and stopped sniffling. He sat in the drivers seat and put the shopping bag on the floor. We had a few minutes of silence, until I took the keys, which were still in my hand, and gave it to him. 

He stared at the keys, as if he never saw them before, then looked at me. Those blue eyes, those damned gorgeous eyes. I felt a weird butterfly sensation in my stomach, then looked away. 

"I'm sorry about what happened Colby, I don't know why I-"

"Who was he?" 

I made a long sigh, and stared at my fingers.

"He's my Ex. I had no idea he moved here."

"What happened between you two?"

I swallowed, feeling a lump in my throat 

"He hurt me," I chocked, looking up and out the window. "He hurt me a lot and, well, it's hard to explain in a quick summary what exactly happened."

I felt a tear run down my cheek. I quickly wiped it and breathed out. I closed my eyes, why am I telling him this? I came to talk to Elton, I barly know this guy

I felt a hand hold mine. I stayed still, not knowing what he was doing. 

"If you don't want to talk about it, it's fine. But don't worry right now, you're in this car, with me. He can't hurt you, ok?"

I smiled and nodded. Why was he being so nice? 

We stayed still for a few seconds, then I broke the silence by clicking on the radio.

"So, what stations do you listen to here," I asked, "or do you aux all your emo music?"

He laughed and put in a station. I didn't listen to the song, I stared out the window. Trying to think about the prank instead of what just happened. We will get Eltonreally good. I know it
