"So how was your date last night?" my mother asks from across the table, taking a bite of her salad.

I smile to myself, taking a bite of my sandwich and hear my mother let out a shocked gasp while dropping her fork.

"You didn't?" she exclaims, with a small smile.

I remain silent, allowing her to figure it out and she slaps her palm against her forehead, but still has the smile on her face.

"I know I should be scolding you, but you are a grown man and I can tell you two like each other, so I'm going to leave it at that," she sighs, pulling her hand away from her face.

"She's my girlfriend, now," I smirk, causing my mother to let out another shocked gasp.

"Oh my god! Cole!"

"Yup," I shrug, taking another bite of my sandwich.

"What are you going to do when you have to go back?" she asks, becoming serious.

"Well it's not definite yet, but I was thinking about opening a restaurant here, that way I can stay here with you and Shale, but it may still be too soon to decide," I shrug.

"Well I don't know about too soon. Life's too short to be safe. Take risks for what you think is right. If it feels right with her, than you don't have to wait. Don't let other people's relationships define yours. You are a confidant young man, so own it. If you know what you want, go for it," she says nodding her head firmly.

I take a moment to process her words. She is right. I don't have to go so slow because it isn't ideal for a normal relationship, but I'm not going to rush it either. I'll do whatever feels right.

I smile at her with a confident nod, taking another bite of my lunch as I continue to ponder my options.

The next few months pass in an uneventful, but completely blissful blur. Cole and I are still together and I can feel my feelings getting stronger by the day, enough to scare the hell out of me, but at the same time I'm excited.

Olivia has fallen back to her old self mostly, though she still gets her nightmares. I can feel the tension of her looming departure weighing down on her, but we're doing the best we can.

"Do you think these jeans make my ass look big?" Olivia asks, as she walks out of the dressing room.

"Yes... but in a good way," I chuckle, causing her to roll her eyes and walk back into the dressing room.

'So where are you going with Mr. Hotstuff tonight?" Olivia asks from the other side of the door.

"Um...I don't know," I say, checking my phone.

"ohh, sexy. He knows what he's doing," Olivia says, coming out of the dressing, causing me to chuck her purse at her.

She catches it easily, causing me to pout angrily, before rising from the bench.

"Okay go try on your dress for tonight," Olivia orders, stealing my spot.

"Ugh, fine," I grumble, dropping my purse down beside Olivia.

She gives me an encouraging smile as I walk into the dressing room. I quickly undress and try on the "date dress". It's an off white mid-thigh length dress with cute birds decorating the silk. A built in brown waist clinches around my waist, showing off my curves. It was perfect. I step out of the dressing room and show Olivia.
