Alice was sitting down in her maths class, scribbling down maths equations and notes like A2+b2=c2 (Pythagoras theorem) which she never seemed to remeber. She also wrote the equation y=mx+c, the equation of a straight line, which would be very helpful for her revisions. But there was one particular reason as to why she was writing all these equations, othere than for revising. She was doing this because she was second best of the class....her first time ever! And she totally hated it. A new girl called Madina who barely had no friends had come first. They had both achieved A*, but Madina had had a couplemore marks than Alice, and Alice was furious about it.
Mr Haldey was very disapointed in Alice. He had thought she would come first, and not the strage, lonely Madina. But, nevertherless, he couldn't show his disapointment to the class or else they will all think he was favouring Alice...which he did. Alice was near to crying, but she was too brave for that, so insteady, she let her long firnge cover her eyes and let her hair curtain her.
"I think you stilldone quite good,Miss Dee." said Mr Haldey. Alice shook her head.
"Nope, I really didn't sir." she said. Fortunately to everyone, the bell was going to go off in a couple of seconds, but first, Alice needed to talk to Madina, not for congratulating her. She mouthed to Madina to stay back because she wanted to talk to her. Since Madina had no better thing to do, she nodded. Alice was thinking about how exactly she was going to tell Madina that she was dispointed. She wanted to ask her to be less good in class, to let Alice be first, but that was pretty much impossible. In the end, ALice decided she should just get over it and congratulate Madina instead. Madina had no idea who Alice was and less of an idea what Alice was going to talk her about, but she would go to her anyway.
"Congratulations, for getting a higher amrk then me, nobody's ever done it before, you see." Alice said bitterly. Madina nodded.
"Oh, I see...." Madina said, her voice traling away. People were standing outside the maths class, they were all ALice's friends, waiting for her to get out.
"Well, um, people are waiting for me, so bye." Alice said, glad she'd gotten away with what she had just told Madina. She sneaked out of the room and grinned at her giggly friends.
"Hey!" she said, disapointment in her voice. She was trying too hard to look casual, too hard to sound happy and not sad. Everyone knew she had got a lower mark then Madina. And she was too embarassed.
"You alright, honey?" asked a soothing and rather unfamiliar voice.Alice turned around and saw a gorgeous boy staring back at her.
"Kyle! What you doing here?!" snapped a voice. Alice knew this voice only too well, it was her best friend Suzy. But Alice didn't take her eyes off the beautiful boy in front of her. He had gorgeous blue eyes, gold like hair and light skin, his body was...amazing. She smiled and nodded, having completely forgotten he had asked her if she was alright.
"Yeah, I'm yeah, fine." she mumbled. Suzy grabbed Kyle's arm and dragged him away.
"You're my brother for fuck's sake, you don't just go and start flirting with my friends!" Alice heard Suzy faintly shouting at her older brother. Oh yes you do baby, cause right now, I'm in love with you, and all I want, is a flirter! Alice thought helplessly. She was totally in love and she couldn't help it...but it was with her ebst friend's brother....did that make it alright for her?
