The Confused Mind

Part 1

It all started on Christmas break. Our friend Jake invited us all to his parents log cabin in the middle of nowhere. Yeah the place was pretty creepy, but he was my friend so of course I was going to go. When I got there I saw my friend Sam, I’ve known her since we were ten. When I got there it looked like she needed help with her bags.”Damn, why does she need all these clothes” I thought to myself. I guess she heard me walking up cause I heard her say “Yo! Garrett, can you help me with my bags?”, “Sure” I replied to her question. After helping her we got on the tram to go to the log cabin. While we were on our way we caught up on what’s been going on, because she goes to a different school. When we arrived we saw our friends Jake and Courtney.  Sam and Courtney ran into each other's arms. I walked over to Jake and said “Hey. Where’s Anthony and Jessica?” “Here” said Anthony from behind me out of nowhere, I nearly pissed myself when he did that. “Why are you guys waiting outside of the cabin?” asked Jessica, as she walked up from behind Anthony. “Did Jake lose the keys again?” said Anthony in a sarcastic way. “No, we were waiting on you guys,” Jake said in an annoyed way. After a little small talk Jake finally opened the door to the log cabin, and to none of our surprises it was dustier than all the celling fans in my house put together, and that’s saying something. We all got settled in Jake called us into the main room and said “Guys let’s have a toast, to the best Christmas ever.” We all grabbed our drinks, raised them up and said in chorus “To the best Christmas ever”. By around midnight everyone was asleep, but that didn’t last long. There was a loud crash and everyone was woken up by the noise. “What the HELL was that!” Sam yelled out of frustration from being ripped out of her beauty sleep by the loud noise. “I think a window broke?” I said try to make sure she didn't break another one. “If it was a window how did it break?” said Anthony. “Wait where’s Jake?” Courtney asked in a worried way. “Why don’t we look for him, Garrett you and Sam look down stairs and I’ll look up stairs with Courtney and Jessica, Okay?” Anthony said in a reassuring way. “Sure”, we all said in agreement. After we split our ways Sam grabbed my arm and said in a worried voice “What do you think happened to Jake?” “I don’t know, but what I do know is...”. Right after I said that there was a noise and before I could turn around I was hit in the back of the head, then the next thing I knew I woke up in a room with a lever with a picture of Sam on the right, and a picture of Jake on the left. There was a window with a blanket over it so I pulled it down and I saw Sam and Jake but their hands were chained to a pole on the ceiling then I saw this big saw blade on tracks but it forked at the middle of the room and they lead to Sam and Jake and at that moment I realised I was going to have to pick between Sam and Jake.
