All she feels is falling, she doesn’t thrash and try to stop it, and she just goes limp and let’s herself fall. She has had this dream a million times before.
She never escapes the falling so it was just kind of pointless thrashing and wasting energy, she always woke up exhausted when she tried to save herself. She just watches as the ground rushes towards her, a tear streaks up her cheek as she plummets into the dark abyss. She makes impact, pain streaks through her body, she feels an oozing type of feeling coming from the places her body hurts the most, bones that have split through the skin most likely.
Just before all life drains from her body she wakes sobbing again her heart contracting as she gasps for air. The memory linked to the dream hits and she covers her ears and screams the sound of shattering glass sounded throughout the house. This had become a regular occurrence by this point. Her carer comes into the room screaming at her again about he’ll have to replace the windows again. She apologises in a tiny voice as tears streak down her face. She sprints to the bathroom to calm down, she splashes water on her face then glances up at the mirror, her eyes were a vibrant green again, her skin luminescent. Her vibrant eyes, the same colour as jades in sunlight, which is where she got her name. Her dad had been the one to name her as her mother had died during birth, from what she knew of her mother she had been a kind and thoughtful woman. Her father had loved her more than anything, which is why he drank every day, to dull the pain of losing her. He hated Jade, not because she was a bad child or anything but she just reminded him so much of the woman he’d lost that he couldn’t bear to look at her. He eventually drank himself to death and Jade was placed in foster care.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
