my riches can't buy everything
I want to hear the children sing
All I hear is the sound
Of rain falling on the ground
I sit and watch
As tears go by
It is the evening of the day
I sit and watch the children play
Doin' things I used to do
They think are new
I sit and watch
As tears go byeveryday, i try to drown out my parents screaming and their hateful words.
my parents were always fighting. either over me or stupid stuff like my mom making something that my father didn't like.
"SHUT UP DOWN THERE" i hollered from my bedroom.
suddenly there was silence and then i heard my father booming up the stairs. "shit shit shit" i hissed as i made sure that the door was locked.
i grabbed my green army jacket and opened my bedroom window.
"OPEN THE GOD DAMN DOOR ANNABELLE!" my father, kevin roared behind the door as he pounded on it. "NO!" i screeched as i hopped out my window and ran down the street.
i just wish that they would stop fighting but it's been about 16 years. i'm not sure if they ever loved each other and i know for sure that my father has never loved me, seeing as he never wanted me in the first place.
i finally arrived at my safe place; eric forman's basement.
i flung open the door and threw on a fake smile. "what's up" i flopped onto the couch. "charlie's angels" my bestfriend hyde rolled his eyes. "hey, it's a good show" kelso exclaimed loudly. "oh hey anna" eric smiled brightly as he came down the stairs. "hey forman" i gave him a small smile. "wait..something's different, it's quiet" i furrowed my eyebrows. i suddenly snapped my fingers. "oh wait, jackies not here!" hyde and eric laughed. "she made donna go shoe shopping with her" eric rolled his eyes. the basement door opened and everyone turned to the door to see that fez walked in. "hello friends" fez said as he sat down in chair he usually sat in. "why hello anna you look lovely today" fez said in his thick accent. "thank you fez" i smiled. fez was pretty perverted but he was also really sweet. "KIDS, LUNCH!" kitty yelled down the stairs. everyone bolted upstairs except for me and hyde. "smoke break" hyde stood up and walked towards the door. "you coming?" he asked. i nodded and jumped up to follow him. once we were outside, he pulled out his pack of cigarettes
"you got a light?" he asked, putting a cigarette between his lips. "yeah" i dug through my pocket and pulled out a lighter, tossing it to him. he lit the cigarette and inhaled. he handed he the lighter and looked at me. "you okay parker?" hyde asked as he took the cigarette from his lips. "i'm fine, why do you ask?" i bit my lip. hyde shrugged. "you just seemed off"
this is one of the reasons why hyde is my best friend, he just knows what's wrong just by looking into my eyes.
he handed me the cigarette and i took a long drag. "just shit with my parents, no big deal" i exhaled. "were they fighting this morning or something?" hyde asked as i passed him the cigarette. "but you're okay, right?" he asked me. i wish that everyone else saw this side of hyde. the caring one, not just the sarcastic rude one. "yeah, i guess" i scratched my head. "we should probably go inside before they start suspecting something" i laughed. "alright, i'll meet you inside, i'm just gonna finish this" hyde said, putting the cigarette back to his lips. i nodded and went back inside.
i wish that i could tell him what was really going on.
