Lisa's POV

"Taxi! Taxi!" I call out, waving my hands in the air. The taxi pulls over, leading to me to quickly put my bag in the back trunk.

"Gangnam Severance Hospital!" I tell the taxi driver as he starts the engine.

It was quite a ride, but all I can think of is my mom. Before I even know it, I'm near the hospital. There is traffic, and it's taking long. I dug into my purse grabbing money to pay him and notice all my money is still in U.S dollars.

"Shit." I cuss under my breath.

I do some quick calculations in my head. Math was always my favorite subject. I rushed out of the taxi, taking my bag before he parked. I felt impatient at this moment.

"Keep the change. " I tell him as I slam the door shut. I hear him yell something, waving money at me, but I grab my suitcase ignoring him. I bow real quick telling him sorry as I make my way around the cars to the entrance of the hospital. I've never been in a hospital before, even when my dad passed away, sadly. I don't even remember leaving the house at all when my mother told me the news. Just the thought of him gave me the chills up my spine.

.................

The hospital was busy. Full of patients, families, nurses, and doctors. I run up to the main desk.

"Excuse me?" I say to the nurse. "I'm looking for Lee Shin Hye"

I give all the information needed as she searches for her.

I felt like I will go crazy any time now. I wanted to cry. I hated myself for leaving my mother, agreeing to leave her for my own needs. I felt selfish.

"I'm sorry, I can't find the person you're looking for. " She replies after a while. I felt a lump in my throat.

"W-what do you mean she's not here?!" I stutter. " Where else would she be! Check again!" I start screaming at her. I felt eyes burning into my back, but I could care less at this moment.

"I'm sorry ma'am. You may have gotten the wrong hospital." She exclaims.

"That can't be. I was told she was in this hospital a couple of days ago. She just had another heart attack!" I conclude.

"Heart attack?!" She questions.

"Let me check for recent patients. There were some recent patients that were transferred to another hospital because of their conditions." She continues searching on her computer, "Here we are. Lee Shin Hye was actually one of the patients that got transferred. It would take about 20, minutes to get there." She gives me the address in Korean.

I quickly found another ride taking me straight to my destination. I gave the driver my US money. He looked too tired to even notice. I took my stuff with me rushing to the hospital like a maniac.

The hospital looks a lot different. It was twice as big to start with. I am already ticked off because my mother was transferred to another hospital and I had no idea! I go to the front desk and get my mom's room number. It went a lot smoother. I look around the hospital seeing lots of faces with different expressions. I look at the tile floor seeing a blur of my reflection. I don't even know where to start with. I head back to the lady asking for quick directions to start me off. I walk into the elevator with a couple of people walking in. I feel extremely anxious and scared.

I go on my phone to find Hae Soo's profile. I didn't know why I haven't contacted her for information. I click on her number hoping for her to answer. Nope! A robotic woman answer leaving me to cuss under my breath. I'm in Korea duh! I cant use my USA number in Korea to call. I slam the phone on my forehead. I'm not in my state of mind.

The people in the elevator gave me looks. I didn't know if it was the pounding of my heart that was making them stare or why I'm carrying a huge suitcase or maybe I just looked like I just came out of the dumpster.

"Excuse me." I try to squeeze myself out as the elevator opened.

I asked a nearby nurse for more help and continued to ask as I felt lost. All of a sudden, a large alarm goes on which startles me.

COLD BLUE! COLD BLUE! FOURTH FLOOR CORRIDOR FIVE, ROOM 5-54! COLD BLUE! COLD BLUE!

My heart skips a beat as I hear the words repeat four times from the speaker. Doctors and nurses rush, running past me. I drop down to the floor holding onto my suitcase as I hear the room number repeats continuously in my head.

"I need to see mom. I need to see mom." I continue to repeat to myself feeling hopeless. I use my suitcase to help me stand up and continue walking. I count down numbers of every step I take to keep my mind company.

Ten.....nine....eight.....seven.....six......five and a half.....five.... Four and a half......four.....five...fou- Ugh! I look up noticing that I'm in the right hall that'll lead me to my mom's room.

As  I continue walking, a door slams open leaving me to stop. A bed carrier was being pulled out by nurses looking gloomy. A blue, thin sheet is set on a human-like figure. My eyes slowly draw toward the room number, dreading to find out. With tears forming in my eyes, I stare back at the bed.

Umma

"UMMMAAAA!" I run screaming, trying to push the nurses out of the way with tears flowing down my cheeks. "No! Stop it! Leave my mom alone! You can't! You can't take her away!"

The nurses try to pull me away, but I keep fighting back. "You can't do this! Leave her alone! Get away!" I sob pushing everyone away from the bed.

More doctors came to help drag me out. I fight with the last energy I have. My body feeling light as a feather.

"Ma'am. Please"

"You have to calm down."

"Help her. Someone bring ... -"

"My mom ... needs ... to see me ... " I slowly whisper as the hall comes to complete darkness.
