I finished up putting away my things and slung the bag over my shoulder. When everyone had gotten back to the How, Aslan had cleared the rockslide. This gave everyone the chance to pack their things and clean up.
I looked over my room for a few more seconds. Down the road, the remembrances of small details can mean a great deal. I have definitely learned this on several occasions. A knock on the door startled me before I called, "You may enter."
To my surprise, Sebastian walked through holding a bloody cloth to his cheek. "Seb, to what do I owe the pleasure?" I smiled. He smiled back and motioned to his cheek. "Bad scratch. Could you maybe patch me up Doctor Laurel?" he teased.
I nodded, putting my bag on my bed. "Of course. Please, have a seat." He sat down on the bed and watched as I rummaged around for my lotion. When I had found it, I unscrewed the lid and dabbed a bit on his cheek.
"Rub it in well." I instructed, dabbing some on my own scar. "That's a wicked scar. How'd you get that?" Seb asked in awe. My mouth formed a quick smile before turning to a small frown. "Got shot with an arrow-casting spell. I was twelve."
Seb touched it lightly. "You seem like you dislike it." I shrugged, sitting on the bed next to my friend. "No, I'm not crazy about it." Seb opened his mouth to reply, but was cut off by the sound on knocking on the door.
"Come in." I called. The door opened to display a smirking Peter. "Hey, I was wondering–" He stopped dead at the sight of Sebastian. Peter scowled menacingly. "What's going on here?" It was said casually, but I could see the anger churning inside of him. Oh my gosh.
I narrowed my eyes at him and stood up. "Seb, would you excuse me for a moment?" My gaze was locked on Peter, so I barely noticed my friend standing. "You know what, I'll just leave you two alone." he murmured.
I nodded and waited until he closed the door behind him. When the door clicked shut, I exclaimed, "What the bloody hell is wrong with you? Stop acting like a pouty two year-old!" Peter's jaw clenched, jealousy and hurt flashing in his blue eyes.
"I'm sorry that I am just making sure that my girlfriend is not hooking up with another guy behind my back!" he shouted. I stared at him in awe. Peter just called me his girlfriend. Suddenly, I started to laugh. He scowled at me, looking a bit flustered.
"Stop laughing at me." He ordered through gritted teeth. I walked forward and patted his cheek. "Oh, Pete. I'm not hooking up with other guys behind my boyfriend's back. Seb is my friend." His frostiness melted away instantly.
"Sorry I'm so protective. I just worry. Are we moving too fast?" he sighed. I shook my head, pecking his cheek. "I happen to like protective guys, but you can loosen up a bit. And to answer your other question, I think not. We've known each other for technically sixteen years."
Peter chuckled, enveloping me into his arms. "You realize that if we tell people, like our parents for instance, that we've known each other for that long they'll think we're mental." I smiled into his shirt and nodded. "Yeah...let's keep that number to ourselves for now."
His nose made contact with the top of my head and rested there for a while. "We should get going soon. We don't want Aslan to accidentally leave us behind." I muttered. A laugh escaped Peter's mouth. "I half wish He would. At least we would be alone. I don't know how much of that we'll get at the Telmarine castle."
I shivered, remembering my time at the castle. "What is it?" I bit my lip, quietly debating how to address this. "I just...hope, and this is really silly, that Caspian will give me a larger room than the ten by twenty Miraz was so generous to give me."
