Leaving home

I lay in bed fast awake, I'm waiting for her to come and get me. I heard my door burst open. There was my mom, her black curly hair was in a messy ponytail, her blue eyes were filled with fear. "Sadie, he found us we have to leave." She rushed. She ran out the door to get her own things. I grabbed my already packed suitcase and changed out of my unicorn onesie. I put my Alaska sweatshirt over my head and pulled up my black jeans. I grabbed my Nike shoes, grabbed my suitcase and rushed out the door. I stopped in my tracks realizing that I forgot the two most important things to me, my bracelet my  real dad gave me, and the locket that my mom gave me. I rushed back into my room and grabbed them. I ran out into the hallway and into my mom's room. She was ready to go also. We both ran out of the apartment and hailed a cab. "Where ya going?" The cab driver asked. My mom answered "The Minnesota airport." He nodded in response. I put the locket and bracelet on beaming at both of them. My  mom looked at me "Sadie, dear, your step father won't find us, when we reach New York he'll have no idea where we are!" She smiled. "Mom, you can't just say things like that. What if he finds us before we even get on the plane!" I snapped. My mom sighed "Listen tootsie, you can't give up on hope. It's the thing that keeps us going."
"I already gave up hope mom! It gave up on me too. Dan said to me that I'm a worthless piece of shit! And that the hope in my eyes of being free was gone, it vanished mom." I cried. My mom looked at me full of guilt. "Why did you marry that dope anyways?" I asked. She sighed "I'm sorry sweetie, I can't tell you that." I nodded back. The rest of the way there was in silence.
After we arrived at the airport my mom paid the driver, and I  grabbed the two suitcases out of the back. I walked over to my mom, and gave her bag to her. I went through all of the things in the security and sighed. I took a seat in the chair and waited till they announced that it was our turn to board. I grabbed my book out of my bag, (Since I don't have a phone.) and started reading it. But for some strange reason, I felt I was being watched. I flew my head behind me, my black curly hair hitting my face. I looked at a boy who looked about sixteen, he had intense green eyes, like the ocean. They looked exactly like mine. He had black crazy hair and was very tall for a sixteen year old. He looked about 6.0 feet tall. I was only twelve, so I was about 5.0 while my mom was 5.1, she was short. He just stared at me, I stared back. I felt a connection with him for some odd reason. I jabbed my finger into my moms arm, she glared at me till she saw who I was glancing at. She looked at him for a bit, then stood up and walked over to him. I stared, bewildered. My mom never goes and talks to strangers. I heard them talking about something, but everything was muffled. About five minutes later my mom came back. The boy followed shortly. He looked directly at you and said "Hi, I'm Percy Jackson, you must be Sadie Rowan. Sorry to intrude on you but, you have to come with me. It's the only way to keep you and your mom safe."
