I would go to church a few times a month.
I heard the preacher, but never listened.

I thought that by claiming I was a child of Yours
I would automatically be granted access to that beautiful place in the sky.

I was drowning in an ocean of sin & sorrow
The burdens that I carried on my shoulders continued to drown me.
I thought that I was alone,
Thought that no one could help me.

There was a voice in my head telling me that I needed to change.
It took me a while before I realized that it was Your voice.

I closed my eyes as they filled with tears and I began to pray
and I said "Lord, I don't want to live like this anymore.
I'm ready to change my ways and live the way I ought to.
I want to spend the rest of my life glorifying Your precious name
And doing the things that Christians ought to do."

I repented my sins and sought for Your forgiveness.
I felt Your presence and I felt the burdens lifting off of my shoulders
And for the first time in a long time, I felt free.

I dusted off that old Bible, cracked it open and began reading Your magnificent words of love and truth.

Inside I was exclaiming happily "Thank You, God!
Thank You, for saving me, a sinner who is undeserving of Your unconditional love!
Thank You, for a second chance!
Thank You, for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, into this world so that I may be forgiven!"

From then on I changed my ways.
I read the Bible more often,
I prayed more often and when I prayed, I poured my heart and soul out to You,
And I sang Your praises with more heart and enthusiasm.

I am eternally grateful to You, God.
Thank You for opening my eyes and giving me a second chance.
Thank You for having mercy on me, Lord.
Thank You for sending Your Son into this world to save sinners like me.

I will forever worship You
till that faithful day when I see Your glorious face in that grand ol' place in the sky.

Thank you, God!

I wrote this poem about 2 months ago. It's a simpler and shorter version of my testimony.

I don't really have anything else to say. I feel like this poem says it all. However, I do have a bible verse to share with you guys:

• • •
"But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong."

« 1 John 1:9 »
• • •

Our Heavenly Father will forgive us from all of our sins if we turn to Him, confess our sins and ask for His forgiveness.

Once you turn to God for His forgiveness, you are cleansed and freed from the shackles of your sin. It's like a clean slate; He has not only forgiven you from your sins, but He has also forgotten them.

God doesn't want us to spend the rest of our lives wallowing in guilt, He wants us to learn from our mistakes and change our ways.

He sent His one and only Son, the Messiah, Jesus Christ, so that we may be forgiven of our sins. Our sins are nailed to the cross where he was crucified and where he suffered and died. He sacrificed his own life so that we may have a relationship with him and so that we may enter the Kingdom of God one day.

It doesn't matter what we have done— whether we murdered, committed adultery, hurt others or committed other sins— God will forgive us from all sins as long as we humble ourselves and turn to Him.

So if you haven't turned to God for His forgiveness, I ask that you please turn to Him and repent your sins. He will forgive you from all unrighteousness and He will continue to do so until the day you die.

That's all I've got for today. I hope you all enjoyed this poem and I hope that my words have inspired you to turn to God. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this. It really means a lot to me :)

God bless you all & have a wonderful rest of your day :)
