Shizuka was livid. Her adoptive parents were having another one of their daily fights about her. So, Bob thought that she was too expensive to maintain, did he? Did he forget that he was living in her deceased parents' house? Did he forget that he got a monthly sum of money for the sole purpose of her maintenance? It certainly seemed that way.

When she got tired of pacing her room, she flopped down on the bed and hugged Hinamori as hot tears flowed down her cheeks. Her parents had been in an accident when she was three years old. They died at the hospital but before they passed on, her mom gave her Hinamori and her dad promised her that they would always be there for her, so when they did die, she believed that their spirits were in Hinamori.

Every evening, she would tell her precious doll of her day. She never parted with it even when other children started making fun of her. Hinamori was always the first to know anything important. Even now, as a teenager, she kept and spoke to Hinamori. It was a tradition that she would never break. She did not care if people thought that she was mad but Hinamori was her first and only true friend, always there when she needed her.

Today was one of her worst days ever and it didn't help that when she came home from school, Bob and Marla were fighting again. She told Hinamori everything, sobbing as she did so. She even screamed a few times but the other occupants of the house were too busy venting their anger out on each other to hear her. She just wished that someone would notice, even once in a while, but no one ever did.

She was fed up of being ignored, fed up of the fights every night, fed up of those demons she called friends, fed up of being the 'rich' kid, fed up of the bullies, but most of all, she was fed up of being invisible. As she lay crying, she got tired of not doing anything about it. The tears did nothing to help her, if she really wanted things to change, she would have done something about it.

She stopped the useless sobbing and started to form a plan. She would run away. She would go to a new school, make new friends and try living on her own. After all, she was sixteen. She would be a new person and live a new life. She was not going to be ruled by some people who believed that they could just waltz into her life and take over.

As if in a daze, she packed some clothes and money into a backpack, along with the only picture she had of her parents. Se went into the bathroom and washed her face. Then she grabbed a few towels, a new bar of soap and other necessary items which she carried into her room and packed into her bag. She took the bag and Hinamori and sneaked into the kitchen where she added some canned food and bread to the items in her bag. She also took a big knife and a can opener.

She left the house through the kitchen door so she would not be noticed by Bob or Marla who were still quarreling in the living room. She came out onto the street clutching her doll as silent tears ran down her face. It would be her last for a very long time. She broke into a run, not once looking back at the place she grew up in because she knew her resolve would break if she did. The rain began to fall as her heart ached with a pain not meant for a soul so pure and innocent.

She did not know that her house was bombed that night, nor did she know that the people who killed her parents, for it was a setup, were after her now. She did not know that there was a valuable secret chip inside Hinamori, nor did she know that Bob and Marla were protecting her by their constant fights, hoping that one day she would run away. What she did know however, was that God saved her life that night by making her behind a tree, seeking shelter from the downpour, because as soon as she hid, a car passed by and she heard a man talking on his cell phone, saying that he was looking for her at the moment.

Who was she? She was Shizuka Ukitake, daughter of Shizune and Kaien Ukitake, CEOs of Japan's top security and tracking devices company- Senbonzakura.
