ME
Me, just a Muslim,
Constantly being blamed, and hated,
Islamophobia is now too real,
I'm running from the same thing as you,
Please don't turn your backs on us,
Please show us some mercy,
The world is huge,
But there's no room for us,
There is nothing for us,
Nothing except for dirty looks,
We're humans too,
We have good inside us too ya' know,
It already brings tears to my eyes,
Thinking that I'm running from my own country,
I don't think I deserve anymore bad things,
But I get it anyways,
Avoidance,
Needing saving,
Blamed,
Hated,
When will this all end,
No Facebook statuses change to #Pray4Syria&Iraq,
I feel terribly bad for Paris, I do,
132 people died,
All the devastation,
I can relate,
Except nobody pushes our wheelchairs,
They're all too caught up worrying every time you cough,
I pray for you Paris, I do,
From the bottom of my heart,
But please,
Understand where I'm coming from,
Every moment I wonder
Will I make it through the next hour alive?
Are my loved ones safe?
When will someone help?
When will this stop?
Me, I'm just a person, just like you.
