"Only half a blue sky, kinda there but not quite.."

Chapter 17
The boys’ beach house had seemed very nice upon my first few glances of it. And so it was, sitting on the sofa and on their back porch enjoying fall evenings and each other’s company. But living with them was an entire different story. We’d been there only a few days before the tight proximity began to wear on Avery and me.
The beach house had four bedrooms. Originally, Harry and Louis had been sharing a room, and Niall, Liam, and Zayn had a room to themselves. But the entire situation had to be rearranged once Avery and I arrived. Harry had been quick to volunteer to share a room with me, and I was only too happy to oblige. Avery had been given the smallest bedroom, originally Zayn’s, to herself. That left Zayn and Liam in one of the two remaining rooms and Niall and Louis in the other one.
The first night, I didn’t sleep. I was worried and full of energy from my very big day for the first part of it, and the second half was the fact that I was sleeping next to my boyfriend. We’d been dating almost three months now, and the most physical thing we’d done was make out. And now, here we were sleeping (in the most innocent sense of the word) together.
So while my brain was running at ninety miles an hour, I laid awake and watched Harry sleep. It wasn’t creepy. It was… Ideal. He looked innocent and young when he slept, as if he didn’t have a care in the world. There was something adorable about the cute way his lips pouted and his forehead crinkled while he dreamt. I found myself resisting the urge to kiss his forehead to rid it of the harsh lines on his oh so beautiful complexion.
The next morning was intense. Avery was an emotional wreck, having finally realized what was happening. She spent the day holed up in her room, which forced me to force feed her all day. The other boys were wary of her, but they did their best to cheer her up.
But by the end of our first week there, we all needed a break. The boys were gone a lot to do some recording and official tour stuff, so when they came home they were starving and either exhausted or hyper. Often, Liam and Zayn wanted to chill. But Harry, Niall, and Louis had so much energy they’d be bouncing off the walls. They were always starving, and always complained loudly about the lack of food in the house.
I really liked Harry. By this point, everyone should have known that. But his friends, no matter how famous they were, were driving me crazy. They were loud and gross and way too open. Niall was never wearing a shirt, Harry was never wearing pants, and Louis had the habit of peeing with the door open. Liam was either moody or happy on any given day, and his mood swings often rivaled Avery’s. And as for Zayn, well. He was too busy irritating Avery and me by smoking near open windows so that she breathed it in, which was very bad for the baby.
Of course, that meant that I was always after Zayn. Avery tried to tell me it wasn’t a big deal, but she complained every time he wasn’t around to hear it. Of course, Avery and I had never done a single chore in our life. The first night the boys asked us to do the dishes, it took us just over two hours to finish it all, simply because we weren’t really sure what to do. Niall was a demanding little shit at the best of times, and it irritated the shit out of me. When I woke up the Saturday before Thanksgiving, I already knew it was going to be a shit day. There appeared to be something in the air…
“What time is it?” I asked Harry groggily, sitting up slowly. He was walking around the room hunting for clothes, having already showered.
“5:30,” he said, pulling a clean pair of underwear from his dresser drawer. I turned my head just in time as he dropped the towel to the floor and pulled them on. Harry may have no shame about his nakedness, but I was a virgin for the love of God!
