If you do, you've probably been hit with countless flashbacks of my (really old) Splatoon fic, My Colorful Life. I actually reread the entire story a couple days ago, and... not gonna lie, it's pretty cringeworthy by my standards today. There were some parts that were legit shoehorned in because I thought they'd be cool despite making no sense in the story. (For example, when Nami pushed another student off the roof... I had just watched a Yandere Simulator progress update where you could push students off the roof, and I thought "hey! that's a good idea! k im gonna go make Nami murder someone for no reason ya." Of course, I tried to make it tie in later by having Nami fall to her death as well. RIP Nami, I remember that I really enjoyed writing her.)

I'm getting off topic. This character in particular was named Orlaith, and she was an Octoling who cared deeply for Inklings, unlike the other members in her little Octo Squadron. She eventually stopped working against the Inklings and joined them. Orlaith was a friendly and sensitive character, and sh was packaged with an Angsty Backstory™ for the low additional price of $3.95. She was my personal favorite character, and I remember drawing her constantly.
Of course, this was a couple years ago. These days, I've improved vastly and actually retired a lot of my Splatoon ocs except for a select few ones, and replaced them with new ones (The main old one who stayed was Sakura, the pink one with the braids. The rest of them are no longer in use, replaced by a new team that's been made with Splatoon 2 in mind; I'll draw them later). After having reread MCL, I decided to redesign Orlaith as a human for kicks and giggles...
And I actually really like her!

I tried to make her hair less intense red and more of a ginger color, and made her skin a little less pale and green-ish like it was at first (for some reason...), changed her hoodie color from dark blue to black, like how it was in the story, and I gave her freckles cause they're cute.
What do y'all think? Should I keep human Orlaith as she is now? Should I do more redesigns of old OCs? If so, who should I redesign next? Leave some suggestions in the comments!
