KIANA
"I bet you can't jump over that wall." Conner challenges me with his thick mocking British accent.
The others throw in words of agreement. I look at the wall he was referring to. It was the back wall of Reddington Academy. A mysterious school no one knew anything about. There were rumours that witches and paranormal beings went to that school. I smirk.
"Bet you can't beat me to the top." The others 'oh' ed and 'ah' ed.
We both knew I would win but Conner could never turn down a challenge and I couldn't go up there alone. Heaven knows what's over that wall.
"Alright then. We'll start on three. Jamie will referee." He says brushing his hair out of his eyes.
I nod and shrug off his hold round my waist. We both crouch down to a starting position, a few feet away from the wall. Jamie told us to wait till he said three. Once he said three I was of like a bullet, climbing the wall like a spider monkey. I had noted were there were uneven placing in the wall. I quickly placed my footings on them and climbed up the wall. I was too fast to lose a grip or slip. By the time I got to the top, I was inches away from the electric fence. A minute passed and Conner appeared beside me. We looked at each other and hoisted ourselves up, peeking over the fence.
"Nothing but grass." Conner shakes his head.
He was right. There wasn't anything but grass. Determined I jumped over the fencing and landed with a somersault to soften the landing. I look up at Conner. He looked petrified but his gaze wasn't fixed on me, it was fixed on something behind me. I felt a hot wind fan my back. I turned slowly and came face to face with a horse sized griffon. It was huge. It had a light orange beak. Its fur and feathers were an icy blue and spiked, making it look like some kind of ice monster. I gently extended my hand towards it. The griffon sniffed my hand before rubbing its beak against it. It purred, making my hand vibrate. I laughed softly. It flew over my head to my back and used its beak to nudge me forward. I laughed.
"Hold on! Where are you taking me to?"
It stopped and looked up. I heard footsteps and turned. There stood a petite slender girl. Her icy blue hair was cut into a bob. Her icy blue eyes stared at me. She wore a full jumpsuit that clung to her body. It too was blue, sky blue. She wore snow boots with white fur at the brims.
"Who are you?" her voice was cold and fit her appearance.
Her face was fixed in a sneer and she didn't look too pleased to see me with the griffon. I was about to reply sarcastically but remembered that it won't be too clever, considering I was in her school.
"I'm Kiana." I replied curtly. There really wasn't anything I could say to her.
"Where did you come from?" her lips were still fixed in the same sneer as if it were permanent.
I didn't say anything, I just pointed to the wall behind me that I had jumped from. She looked at the wall then back at me with wide eyes.
"You scaled that wall?" she asked
"Yeah."
"And you jumped down."
"Uh-huh."
"And you didn't break a bone."
"Don't think so."
She gave me an incredulous look. It was obvious she didn't believe me.
"You're not from here? Are you?"
I shook my head. I just assumed she was referring to Reddington. Why would she think I'm from there? I knew I was odd, with my red hair with white tips and otherworldly blue eyes as Granma called them but I wasn't like her. She looks me over, her unsettling eyes going over every detail. It gave me the creeps.
"Snowflake!" a guy appears.
He was the opposite of her. Fiery red hair that twisted up like fire. Fiery red eyes. He wore a red muscle tee with a black leather jacket and jeans. He had on black and white Jordan's. He stops when he sees me.
"Who are you?" his voice was low.
"I feel like I'm getting a sense of Deja vu." I mumble.
"I asked a question." He frowns, stepping forward.
His hair goes up in actual flames and his eyes glazed over in anger.
"Whoa, easy there Fire Boy." I put my hands up in surrender.
"Kiana! Are you there?!" I hear Jamie's voice.
