Chapter Nineteen

When I walked down the hall of Farrington Academy, I felt awesome. Not because of the getting over Marcus very fast, but because I walked down the hallway of Farrington Academy hand-to-hand with my best friend. Kyle Anderson, the boy I least expected to fall for.

We were the main talk of the week. We’d get stares from students all the way to teachers. Obviously all the girls who liked Kyle- who doesn’t? - didn’t like us together. But they go ahead and judge us; like we care. The rumor of Kyle and I was simply this:

Marcus cheated on Farah when he found her in the bed with Kyle.

Oh, how I laughed at the various rumors. The truth, however, was Marcus cheated on me with Gillian. Plus, Kyle and I never had sex. But thirdly, I found my true feelings for Kyle over Spring Break. In our case, what happens at the Beach House doesn’t stay like in Vegas.

“I got to go to practice, babe. See you later.” Kyle mumbled in my ear. I pouted, but said okay. He kissed me, which made my knees wobble. That’ll never get old, I swear. I bit my lip, watching Kyle walk away to the Lacrosse field. Guess I’ll be riding with Olivia. I quickly texted her, asking if she could give me a ride.

I spotted Olivia across the parking lot, and then heard my phone go off. The txt from Olivia was saying okay, but what got me is that she also said “You’re telling me all of the deets of your Spring Break.” I rolled my eyes.

When she pulled up in her purple car, I went directly to the passenger door, getting in.

“Okay. Tell me, Farah.” Was her first words spoken to me. Not a simple hey or hello?

I sighed. “I was upset, so Kyle had gotten the keys to the beach house from my Dad.”

Olivia gasped, “The beach house? Dang, how freaking romantic.” She swooned.

“He sang me a song, Olivia. The sweetest thing ever.  We just collided into each other.”

“What song?” Olivia asked, while having both hands on the steering wheel.

She is Love by Parachute.

“Holy crap, Farah. How sweet! I’m so happy for you.” She squealed, elbowing me. I blushed, and looked out the window of her car.

I’m finally dating my best friend, Kyle.
