My hair is cut short in a Bob.... Sooo one day when i was getting lunch an annoying freshman, that has been haunting me since registration, said:

Stalker: You look like Dora.

Me:in my head *just ignore him Rosie. He'll go away." Then I started to leave with my lunch.

Stalker: (before i get the chance to leave) Hey! You look like Dora.

Me:*snap my head in his direction, give him my dirtiest glare and...* Fuck off!  *walk away*

Watch out we got a bad ass over here, lol. Actually as I was walking away a thought crossed my mind. What if he got some of his friends to jump me? What did I get myself into? but, you know what? It was fucking worth it and it made my day. A story to tell the kids.... Anyway, onto this story..........

     Liam

"Evangeline!" I knelt at her side and felt her heart beating faintly. "Come on angel. Stay with me."

When I got no response I bit my wrist and practically shoved it over her mouth in desperation. "Come on. Drink, little one."

It was gentle at first but then the suction on my wrist became more violent to the point of pain. "Alright. Evangeline, enough."

Her eyes slowly opened and through her heavy lidded gaze, I witnessed her eyes change from all white to her unique shade of gray. She tried to sit up but I pushed her back down. "Easy. You alright, mon coeur?"

Her eyes met mine and held, "Of course I'm not alright."

I was half relieved she didn't hear my endearment. Mon coeur? Certainly not. She had the most stubborn dispostition I ever came across. Those eyes burned when she was angry, turned as cold as steel in determination, and right now they were doing both.

"Let me up you brute." She weakly shoved at me 'till I let her go. Standing up and turning in a circle, she muttered to herself. Something like, "Always misplacing that damned ferret."

"Don't you have anything to say to me?" She was still gazing around, like she was going to find Mikah hiding behind a tree. "Psh, ungrateful woman. Should've just ran screaming in the opposite direction."

     Evangeline

Ungrateful? Was I? I didn't want to meet his eyes so I pretended to look around for Mikah. Well half pretended anyway, I always managed to lose that ferret. The idea of Liam screaming made me give a shout of laughter.

"What do you think is so amusing?" He asked in exhasperation, then, not for the first time today, got angry, "Why did I bother helping you?"

I turned to him, all the traces of amusement fleeing me to make room for anger, "Why did you bother? Why did you bother?! You tosspot wank basta-"

He stomped up to me and smashed his hard lips against mine. Instant heat seared down my spine and warmed my insides.

I struggled, and before I forgot how i got here in the first place, I shoved Liam away, "Stop! Didn't I just yell at you for this? I lost control because of this! Brilliant. My husband's a horny lustful man and disregards what I say."

He grabbed my arm, a serious look on his face, "I'm only a horny lustful husband for you, angel."

I sighed and acknowledged that this wasn't getting us anywhere. "Let's go look for Mikah." A thought nagged at me, "What were you doing at that Gypsy camp?"

A look of panic crossed his face before it disapeared, "What was I doing there? What were you doing there?"

He made me want to shove my fist down his throat, instead i replied sweetly, "I asked first. And no bullshit."

"I, uh, was..."

Damn I couldn't tell her the truth.

"Why the hell not?"

He looked at me in panic, "What?"

I narrowed my eyes at him, "You know damn well what I'm talking about! Why can't you tell me the truth?" I crossed my arms over my chest.

"How did you know what I was thinking?"

"Oh what an idiotic question! You know damn well that while i was in the blood craze we bonded! That's how I know what you're thinking." It was going to be hard to keep my mission a secret from him now.

"Yes it is now you have to tell me." His gruff voice shook with irritation, and relief that she couldn't keep secrets from him.

"No I don't. Stop reading my mind! It's rude." I never thought I'd be creating a mental barrier against my bonded mate, but that's what I did. Once it was up, Liam's presence in my mind faded away. I gave him a grim look. In that moment, I hated my job, and myself.

Liam grabbed me by my shoulders and gave me a slight shake, "Dammit don't push me out!" Anguish passed through his eyes, then mixed with anger, "What have I done to not have your trust?"

Fighting a lot wasn't a passable excuse because everybody fought. The truth of the matter was that I didn't want him to get any more involved than he is. I was in a dangerous position, and his cooperation could very well mean his death. I did trust him.

"You never told me why you were in the camp."

"I'll tell you if you answer me."

"Then I guess we'll both be left unsatisfied." I held out my hand in truce, "Let's go find my ferret."

He gazed at me for a tense second, "This isn't over, angel." Then he took my hand in surrender.
