Outside was damp, likewise for the streets of London. The air felt crisp through my black straightened hair. I knew one of these days something like this would happen, I never was one to pay attention to where I was walking, always preoccupied with something on the internet and today I pushed my luck. Not only did my head hurt like hell from walking right into a thick tree branch but my phone was now scattered on the sidewalk. I had high hopes of it being functional but I've been a klutz since I was born and my luck seemed to have vanished before I could use it.
Holding my head and kneeling down, I quickly collected what I could manage. I sighed, even from just staring at what was left of it I could tell it was broke. frustrated I threw it down, hearing the clatter from impact. A man in a Shrek costume pasted, I didn't even question it. I was close to town though, so I could go buy a new phone at the cellular store. I kept walking, eventually catching up to the Shrek costume, trying to ignore it as we waited for the red light. He just, stared at me. Not even moving, for minutes. It made me uncomfortable, but what could I do. Eventually he took a can of pizza sauce out from his fanny pack and rubbed it on his costume. It all was very concerning. Finally the lights turned red so we could safely walk through, I ran for it. I knew the phone store was around the corner and Shrek was giving me the creeps.
I was out of breath when I got there, I tried to explain as best I could with what little voice I had that I needed a new phone. Eventually they understood and gave me the newest iphone with a cute little cactus cover I picked out. The number was changed sadly, but I didn't care. At least I had a phone.
