        It's been a few days since Alexander and I had that 'run in' with Thomas Jefferson. Laffayette, Hercules, Alexander and I have been making fun of him ever since. However, today Hercules decided to lead with;
        "I bet that when he wakes up in the morning he takes a ruler and uses it to measure himself!" Yeah... we had to ban him from our jokes for a little while. It was almost the day of the mixer. I had no one to go with, neither did anyone else in our little group, so we decided that we would all just hang out together. It was slightly sad, sure, but we were honestly really happy about it. I smiled warmly as I walked into the gym where the dance was being set up. The decorations looked really nice and cute and the whole setup looked totally sweet. I turned around to head to my next class when I ran into someone. Alexander looked at me, a light pink tint creeping up his cheeks.
        "O-oh... s-sorry, John!" Alexander exclaimed, swiftly walking away. My heart was racing as I continued to walk, Alexander's stunned face kept popping into my head. He looked so adorable and innocent! I shook my head from side to side. No. He's my best friend! I can't think of him that way! I huffed and continued on to class, awaiting and dreading the school mixer.

        It was almost time for the dance. I may not have anyone to go with, but I at least wanted to look... I don't know. Nice-ish. My father had given me an old suit of his to wear. It was a white button up shirt and a deep blue vest. The pants that went along with it were pleated and black. The shoes were just plain black dress shoes. I looked at myself in the mirror, trying to gain a bit more confidence... but it just made me feel silly. Then, almost as if on cue, my friends came rushing into the room. Herc and Lag had decided to help Alex find something to wear (since he didn't have anything) and boy did they get it right. He wore a nice, smooth black coat over a light-blue button up and his pants were black as well. The outfit wasn't the part that got me though. It was his hair. Alexander's hair was completely brushed out and shiny. The elegant, subtle waves in his hair cascaded down upon his shoulders. I could have died right there.
        "Mon ami! You look magnifique!" Laf commented, beaming with pride.
        "This... really isn't anything. I just... put it on..." I blushed, rubbing the back of my neck awkwardly.
        "Ah, John. Modest as ever!" 73rd teased. I stuck my tongue out at him.
        "Th-they're right, y'know. You... you do look pretty nice." Alexander admitted, scratching his chin a little bit. I suddenly got extremely flustered.
        "Th-thanks! So-so do you!" I complimented back, smiling warmly. Her and Laf both exchanged looks before leading all of us out to the dance floor. Instantaneously I realised the mistake I had made. So many people who probably hated us all. That is, besides the three sisters that were now approaching us. They all had matching style dresses in different colors. It was honestly rather cute. The sisters talked to us for a bit, but then headed off to do something else, leaving me rather bored. Herc and Lag were probably off somewhere spiking some punch and I had no idea where Alexander was. That is, until he walked over to me. He looked really shy.
        "So... I know this may sound a bit weird, but... do you... do you wanna dance? Maybe?" He asked. He seemed so worried! It was adorable! However, almost as soon as he said that the song switched to a slow jam. I drew in a shaky breath and agreed, allowing Alexander to drag me to the dance floor. His arms were around my neck and mine were around his waist. We were so close to each other.
       "Laurens?" Alexander began, unsure of himself.
       "Hamilton?" I questioned back, still unsure why he referred to me by my last name so often.
        "Do you... actually care about me?" I was taken aback by the question.
        "Well... yes. Of course I do!" I replied. Alexander looked deeply into my eyes, and I his. I don't know what came over us but we started to lean in. Our lips were mere inches apart, I could feel Alexander's breath on my face-
        "WHO'S READY TO GET CRAZY!?" The principle exclaimed, twist g a record on the table. Alexander and I pulled away quickly. We shared an awkward glance before completely looking at the ground.
        "I-I need to use the bathroom." Alexander excused himself, rushing off. I wanted to call after him but I had no idea what had just happened. What was I even supposed to say? So, instead of running after the short haired boy, I stayed where I was and awaited my friends' return.

        Eventually, the night drew to a close. Herc and Lag came back over to me and, eventually, so did Alexander. The three of us walked back to our own dorms, saying farewells and thanking Her and Laf for the dance as it couldn't have happened without them. After that, I flopped down onto my bed, absolutely exhausted from tonight. Both because of the dancing and the emotional rollercoaster I went on with Alexander. Now, just laying in the warmth of my bed, all of that faded away and I finally managed to drift off into a peaceful sleep.

(WOO! 964 Words for the new chapter! Yes! Sorry it took me so long to write this. I have a lot of trouble with writing tons of books and then barely ever getting back to them. I'll keep trying, though! Catcha later ma Mellow Shmallows! ;3)
