My alarm went off at 8 signaling me get up from my sleep. Once again it was Monday and I had to go and get ready for the long week ahead. On the bright side I only had 2 classes today and they were back to back so I should be able to get home before noon.
I quickly showered and got ready then threw my hair into a messy bun and slipped on some sweatpants and a long sleeve t-shirt. I headed out the door at about 9:30 so I could grab some Starbucks. I got a strawberries and cream frappuccino then went to class after that and found myself a seat.
After an hour in that boring lecture the professor finally released us. I headed straight to my next class so I could find a seat in that over crowded class. After a dreaded two hours in that class I was finally able to go home.
As I got into the car I got a call from Trent.
"Hey what's up" I said trying to situate my self into the car.
"Are you out of class yet beautiful" he asked.
"Yes sir I am" I said as I pulled out of the parking lot.
"Good, because I get out of practice in about 2 hours and I wanna come and see you"
"Okay that's fine do you want me to come over when you get out?"
"How about I come over to your house after practice instead. You know if it's cool with you and your friends"
"Yeah that's fine just call me when you get out"
"Alright beautiful. Oh and do you want me to bring you anything, I'm going to get some food after practice"
"Sure, whatever you're getting is fine"
"Well text me whatever you want beautiful and I'll bring it after practice. I have to go I'll call you after practice" Trent said and then hung up.
I pulled up to apartment and then went straight in to study a little. After studying I finally decided I wanted chipotle so I texted him that and then went to catch up on my shows.
After watching some re runs of Basketball Wives LA I heard a knock on the door and got up to unlock the door for Trent. When I opened the door he leaned down and gave me kiss and then he continued on with his phone conversation
"Yes momma I hear you" he said while setting the chipotle bag down on the counter. "Okay momma I will tell her" he said in his thick accent.
"Sarah my momma said hey and she wants to know when you're going to come down for dinner" Trent told me as he began to pull out two burritos from the bag.
I was quite shocked that his mother wanted to invite me over for dinner and I've known her son for all of 3 days.
"Soon I guess" I said with a smile on my face to Trent.
"Momma she said soon. Okay I'll tell her. Alright mama. Love you too. Bye" he said as he pressed the end button on his phone and then looked at me.
"Well I hope you're not busy next Sunday because momma wants me to bring you over for dinner." Trent said as he bit into his burrito.
"Your mom wants to meet already?" I said in a shocked tone as I began to eat my bowl.
"Yeah she does. Once I told her about you she insisted I bring you over for Sunday dinner. I'm sorry but she is big on southern hospitality and tradition so she wouldn't have taken no for an answer"
I laughed a little as I listened to Trent tell me more about his Mother and family. He told me about his two twin brothers Jordan and Jayden who would be 18 in a few months, and his 16 year old sister Jalissa, and his mother and father Trina and Jerald Black.
I actually loved to hear Trent tell me about his family. He talked about how he had grown up with a pretty good life with his mother being and his dad being a lawyer and his father being an orthodontist and them being very well known throughout where had grown up. We continued to talk until we finished eating and then we went into my room to watch Netflix.
"Can I have my massage now beautiful?" Trent asked me as we laid cuddled in my bed watching old episodes of Martin.
"I guess" I said to Trent as I straddled his back and began to give him a massage.
After about a 30 minute massage Trent was asleep. I just fell next him and checked twitter on my phone. After a while I ended up dozing off as well.
When I woke up it was already 8:00 and getting dark outside. I woke and I looked over at Trent who was still sleeping. He looked so peaceful and beautiful when he was sleeping. I shook him a little to wake him up and he sat up and gave me a kiss.
"What time is it beautiful?" He asked with sleep still in his voice from the nap.
"It's 8:00 "
"Already. Dang. I guess I should head out then" he said as he started to sit up on the end of the bed.
I really didn't want him to leave. I wanted to lay with him all day and night but I knew I couldn't.
"Awww 5 more minutes Trent" I said as I massaged his shoulders.
He laughed a little at the begging I was doing to try and make him stay longer.
"I'll stay as long as you want beautiful" he said as he laid back in the bed and kissed my lips.
I know he couldn't stay the night with me but I just didn't want him to leave this soon.
"I have a surprise for you though beautiful" Trent said after we laid in silence for 10 minutes.
"What is it Trent?" I asked wondering what kind of surprise he could have for me.
"Close your eyes for a minute" he said as he stood up. I did as I was told and waited for him to tell me to open them.
"Okay go ahead" Trent said as he uncovered my hands from my eyes.
When I opened my eyes There was a small velvet box sitting in my lap. When I opened it there was a small diamond ring inside of it. And I almost started crying looking at the shiny diamond.
Of course I liked Trent but if this was a engagement ring I don't think I would be able to accept it. I was only 22 and still an undergrad in college, and we've only been talking for all of two days. Of course I wanted to get married but not this soon. But I didn't want to jump to any conclusions so I just asked Trent what the ring was for.
"It's a promise ring" he said while smiling at me. "Put it on beautiful" He said as he took the ring out of the box and placed it on my ring finger.
"I wanted to get you something that would let you know that I'm really into you and I want to eventually make something more of this relationship " he said smiling at me.
I was still very shocked and yet very happy that this was actually happening. Trent Black wanted to be in a relationship with me. I quickly jumped on him and hugged him as tight as I could and kissed his lips. He gave me the biggest smile ever showing his dimple and kissing me back.
"I'm guessing that means you like it" he said as he kissed me again.
"Yes Trent I love it. Thank you so much".
"Anything for you beautiful" he said as he hugged me again. We cuddled for a while and then I eventually fell asleep.
At about 12 Trent gave me a kiss on the forehead and told me he was going to head back home. I walked him to the door and gave him one last kiss goodnight. Once I closed the door behind him I let out a quiet scream and then ran to tell Kaylah and Aziza everything. That night I went to sleep with the biggest smile on my face.
