One final visit to the library

The next morning I wake up in my bed.

Was it all a dream? Was all of that just a dream? But if it was a dream, why did I have a dream inside of a dream?

My phone starts ringing.

I look over and see that the screen says, "Nicole".

I pick it up, drop it, then pick it up again to answer it, "Hello?"

*"Please tell me I'm not going crazy, and you saw your dead grandpa too."*

Okay... It wasn't a dream.

"Good morning, to you too. No, I saw him too. Have you asked Lily?"

*"No, not yet. She's still sleeping and I didn't want to wake her up."*

"Okay. Are we still going to meet at the library today, or do you want to cancel and discuss World War II, again, another time?"

*"Today's fine. Do you think you can bring your laptop?"*

"Um... Why?"

*"So we can look some things up."*

"The library has computers."

*"Yes, but there public computers, and people can see what we've been looking up-"*

"What are we looking up exactly?"

*"Something. Anyway, bring your laptop. We'll meet you there in a couple hours."*

"Okay. Bye."

*"Bye."*

She hangs up, and leaves me wondering what's going on.

After I grab jeans a T-shirt, I decide to take a shower.

On my way to the bathroom, out of the corner of my eye, I see a book laying on the floor.

I walk over and pick it up, and take it to my room. I'll look at it later.

I walk to the bathroom again, and turn the water on.

After a minute, I put my hand in the steady stream of water, and feel that it's still lukewarm.

I love living out here, except for two reasons: 1, you live in the middle of nowhere, and no one wants to provide Wi-Fi out here. 2, you never have hot water.

I get in and do everything I have to do whale trying to keep my cast from getting wet, and getting out before I frieze to death.

I get dressed, and walk back to my bed room and pick up the book.

At first it looks like the book that I was going to give to Nicole last night, but I notice something's off about it. The binding feels different. Worn.

I turn it over in my hands, and read the title that says:
