The next morning, as the sunshine peaked through the pink curtains of Haley's room, Sam opened his eyes.
He saw a tired Haley next to him.
She was curled up like a ball beside him. She was holding his hand close to her chest with her head on his shoulder.
When he moved, she quickly woke up.
Her face told the story that she was awake the whole night. Her eyes were dark and tired.
"You're up?", she ask, concerned.
"Just now"
"Are you feeling better"
"It couldn't get better than this", he tried to give her a smile but his lips were hurting too bad.
And at that moment, when Haley looked at his blue eyes, she didn't know what to do. To kiss him till he forgot his last name or to scold him like never before for drinking and driving.
She decided to the the latter.
"WHAT THE FUCK WAS WRONG WITH YOU?"
"Okay, calm down. Listen.", Sam tried to speak.
"NOO. You listen. I have been listening for all this time and know you will listen. How could you be so dumb. Didn't you think about me even once. For god's sake! What if something happened to you. What would I do without you? Do you know how miserable I have been just because I didn't see your face and hear your voice? Do you know how many nights I spent sleepless reading our old conversations ? YOU WERE FUCKING DRUNK AND YOU WERE DRIVING OVER FUCKING 80!?!? Were you out of your fucking mind? What if I lost you? I am not ready to lose you damn it! I am never going to be ready to lose you. So you better not be such an idiot from the next time because I cannot fucking take it anymore"
"That was the first time I heard you curse so much", Sam tried to hold back his laugh.
"Shut up you dork. Never do this ever again! You understand me? I love you way too much to let go of you."
"I promise. Never again", Sam blurts.
"God! I love you so much you idiot",Haley gasps as she gives Sam a hug and climbs into his lap.
"I love you too. I am so sorry. I love you so much"
At that time, someone knocked at Haley's door.
"Hales, Mrs.Scott is here to see Sam", Haley hears her mom's voice.
Haley ran up to open the door. Sam's mom came in and hugged Sam.
"Omg. Sam. Are you okay? Nathan told me you were here", Sam's mom says panicking.
"Mom, I am fine. Don't panic"
"You were drunk?? And driving? Sam what's wrong with you?"
"Mrs.Scott sorry that you got worried. It was too late and I didn't late Sam go home alone. I told him to stay back", Haley says.
"No, I am just glad that he is okay. Thank you for taking care of him"
Haley gave her a soft smile.
That day Sam left with his Mom. He gave Haley a hug before he left and thanked her for taking care of him.
And ever since that day, Sam quit drinking.
They were on good terms again. Every thing went back to normal.
And man they were glad.
Finally the squad could get together like before. All six of them.
"Thank goodness we are all okay now. Sam and Haley, you screwed us up real bad", Claire rolled her eyes.
"Don't worry, we'll make sure it never happens again", Sam smiled grasping Haley's hand tight.
"IT BETTER NOT!", Brooke yelled.
