A Whole New Perspective

Then I felt a cold washcloth on my forehead. I felt a gloved hand hold my hand. I could still see nothing, my eyes still closed. I must have passed out.

I finally opened my eyes. I was in a bedroom with a worried Vegeta by my side.

"Katarina! You're okay! Whis came in here with you all limp in his arms. He trained you way too hard." Vegeta said, cursing under his breath as he removed the washcloth and placed it in cold water again. Wringing the cloth and placing it on my head again.

"But I needed that, Vegeta. I need to be strong, resiliant. I needed this. I didn't need it to this extreme, but I'm a Saiyan. What doesn't kill me makes me stronger, Vegeta. You would make me do training that too."

"No, not like that, I wouldn't make you do a month's worth of training in one day until you pass out."

"You've made me train until I passed out before."

"Let's face it, Katarina, you pass out alot." Vegeta said as he takes the cloth off of my head and dunked it in water again.

"Yeah, but it's usually because I've over done something. But I have come out stronger."

"It's because you are a Saiyan, Katarina. But I still think it was a little ridiculous that Whis trained you that hard so fast." I then got up, getting a little steamed at what Vegeta was hinting at.

"Vegeta, are you hinting that I am not strong enough?" Then Vegeta stopped in his tracks.

"I-I-I didn't hint that at all, Katarina. I just... well... worry."

"Worry I'll grow too strong for you?"

"No! I'm just worried for your well being. Whis' training is brutal. He is extremely unexpected."

"I'll be okay. Take my hands, Vegeta." I said as he did what I said. I closed my eyes as I took my guardian form for a split second.

"Believe in me, Vegeta. Believe I can do this." I said, my glowing form giving me more energy?

I felt stronger, not as weak as I was in my bed. I felt better, I felt as though being in this form healed me?

"Lady Katarina, you're awake! That's wonderful! Vegeta, could you go for a moment? You still need to do your chores."

"You're not going to hurt Katarina, are you?" Vegeta said as he looked Whis straight in the eye.

"I won't hurt Lady Katarina at all. Don't you worry."

"She better not be hurt at all when I return or see her again." Vegeta said as he stormed out with his pink apron.

"Whis, why are you like this? You seemed so sweet when you visit Earth." I said as Whis sat next to me on the bed.

"Well, I was training you yesterday."

"You trained me until I passed out!"

"Which I regret that. I'm sorry I did that. I just wanted you to catch up with the boys. Lady Katarina, you have a lot of potential, you can be a brilliant fighter.Give my training another chance. I will try and not over do it like last time. Okay?"

I was a little hesitant at first, he seemed so nice yet so ignorant about feelings of others. His lightheartedness reminded me of Vegeta. But the only difference is Vegeta did change. I'm not really sure about Whis, but he seemed to learn from this experience.

"I'm really sorry, Katarina. I should have just stopped at your limit. I didn't mean to hurt you, I just wanted to help you."

"Helping me is one thing, almost killing me is not the way to go. Next time, notice I have limitations. All of us have limitations, even the boys. You are training us a little too harshly, though we might get results. Just tune it a back a bit or if you are going to be whipping us in shape like that, warn us." I said and Whis half smiled. I kinda smiled back. He just needed to understand we, as mortals, have limitations unlike deities.

"Do you forgive me, Lady Katarina?" Whis asked.

"Well, that depends if that hard whip cracking like yesterday payed off. Wanna spar?"

"I never thought you would ask." I smiled as we rose off the bed. He handed me a big box after I got out of my transformation.

"Open it." Whis said, looking at the box.

I opened the box and a new Gi was inside.

"I would have given it to you yesterday... But I thought it was better to give it to you today. I thought you would like this color."

I took out a new Gi that was scarlet red with gold trim and a gold frog. I also pulled out white, heeled, knee high boots with white gloves. I took in my hands and used my magic to put the clothes on. They fit me beautifully. Then I saw a symbol on my chest.

"What's this?" I asked Whis, pointing at this mysterious symbol.

"That's my symbol. You are my student, Lady Katarina. I embroidered it for you, unlike the boys, I marked it with permanent marker."  He said with a smile. I smirked back at him.

"So, when shall we begin our sparring?"

"Right outside where the lawn was just freshly trimmed."
