We all split off into our accommodated rooms. The guys allowed Ariel and I to have the master bedroom so we had our own bathroom. Our room was on the second floor with a view of the beach - a stunning view that is. I couldn't wait to see the sun set and rise from here. It felt nice to be out of the city, and away from all the chaos from the past couple of months.

I fell backwards onto the bed with my legs dangling off the end. I stared up at the ceiling and got lost in thought. I haven't really thought about the car accident, and everything leading up to it. I was mad at Sawyer for what happened when we were just kids; it was an accident. I was just upset everyone kept it from me, especially sawyer since we recently had gotten closer. After I got out of the hospital my mom sat down with me, and explained it more clearly than what I was told that night. What really happened was sawyer and I were playing tag on the dock, and I had lost my balance when I tripped over a piece of wood sticking out. When I had fallen into the water, I had tried swimming up, but I couldn't. My foot got caught in a fishing line, and I had tried getting loose, but with all the thrashing I hit my head on the docks pole in the process. By the time Luke got to me, I was knocked unconscious. One of the camp counselors had to do CPR on me. There was always something in the back of my mind that felt odd about why I hated Sawyer that never made sense. A part of me always blamed him for the ending of our friendship as kids, and as we grew up he just became a dick, and the rest is history. It was never a rock I hit my head on, or I didn't try tackling Sawyer and he dodged it causing me to fall in. Phoebe made it seem worse than what really happened; tried making it seem like it was all Sawyers fault. It was just because I'm a klutz.

"Scarlett?"

I heard my band being called multiple times. I opened my eyes and when my eyes came into focus, Ariel's face was looking back down at me with concern.

"Yes?" I said back.

"Are you okay? You were spaced out for a good few minutes. You wouldn't answer me, and I was getting worried. I called your name at least a dozen times."

I pushed myself up and turned myself around to face her, and shook my head yes. "Yeah sorry. I was just deep in thought."

"Want to talk about it?"

"I'm okay. I promise. I was just thinking about everything that happened these past couple of months. I'm just happy to be here and away from all of that from back home."

"In happy you're here, Scar. I love you." Ariel said as she gave me a hug.

I hugged her back and smiled. "I love you, too."

I finally got into my bikini, and put my hair into a messy bun. Ariel and I made our way downstairs to get some lunch before we head down to the beach for the day. Luke was already in the kitchen with all kinds of goodies to make sandwiches.

"Hey girls," Luke waved. "Do you girls want me to make you one?"

"Please! Turkey and cheddar on white." I requested.

"Oh, I'll have a peanut butter and jelly."

I sat down in a chair at the island while I watched Luke make each of us sandwiches, and make extras for the beach. He out two coolers together: one with the sandwiches and snacks, and one either water, Gatorade, beer, and some wine coolers.

"Where are the others?" I asked, now spinning myself around in the chair.

"They left not too long ago to get the canopy set up and all the chairs so when we got there, everything was ready."

"How did you get stuck doing this?" Ariel asked.

He looked up and smiled. "Because we all know I make mean sandwiches. Besides," he said as he slid our plates to us, "I'm not going to college for nothing after high school."
