Tommy closed his eyes and tried to block it all out, his parents were fighting again. He didn't care what they were fighting about tonight, weather it was money, him , or anything else all he wanted was for them to stop.

As he sat in the corner of his room with his eyes closed and hands over his ears , he tried to think of before, when his parents were happy.

The best memory he had was his birthday last year, he had turned 9 and his parents took him out to a nice restaurant. They had ordered a big fish to share , when it came out Tommy's eyes nearly popped out of his head! It was the biggest thing he had ever seen. His parents were so happy when they ate it. He hadn't ever seen them happier
THATS IT!!

Tommy opened his eyes pulling himself back into reality. If he got them a big fish, like a REALLY big one , his parents would love it and forget about fighting and just be happy for the first time in a year.

He looked at his wardrobe were he kept his fishing gear, he thought about sneaking Out but decided against it. In the morning he would ask his dad to take him to the peer on his way to work.

Watching his dad drive away he sighed to himself ' he didn't even ask what time to pick me up' he thought to himself, tommy shrugged it of and got out his bait bag.

The day went smoothly except for a small incident when he fell off the peer but he pulled himself out fairly quickly, and it was a warm day so he dried off in only and hour.

It had been a long time and tommy a father still hasn't come to pick him up, as the sun slowly made its way down the sky tommy was disappointed, he hadn't cought anything!

Tommy decided it was time to pack up his gear but as he began to pull in his line a brilliant white cat with a black spot in the middle of its forehead walked onto the peer. As tommy looked at the cat he noticed that it seemed to glow but he decided it was a trick of the light, after all cats do not glow.

" here puss puss puss" tommy said beckoning the cat to him, his fishing gear forgotten. "could you not" said the cat, tommy nearly fainted but the cat did not seem to notice " I mean really, I may not be human but I still have feelings" he continued, rolling his eyes and sitting down right in front of where tommy was standing.

" c-c-cats c-cant t-talk" spluttered tommy "yes we can but only in the hour of twilight" said the cat pointing its head at the half set sun. " all kind of crazy things can happen in this hour"

"So human boy why are you here at this hour?" The cat asked, now that tommy thought about it he was sure the cat and a slight English accent but he couldn't figure out whether it was male or female, it's voice was deep enough to be a man but not so deep that it couldn't be a woman's.

" I'm trying to catch a fish, a really big, amazing fish ... If can do that my parents will stop fighting" said tommy he wasn't sure why he trusted the cat, but then again he had never seen a talking cat before so he felt like he had no choice but to trust it.

" well that doesn't make a lot of sense" the cat muttered under his breath " we'll if you really want a fish like that you'll have to catch a moonshine trout". " I've never heard of that one before" tommy said, he had watched many fishing shows but he had never heard of a moonshine trout.

" we'll of course you haven't, the only way you can fish them if you cast your line directly under the moon and you can only do that if you cast your line from the moon" said the cat trying to speed things up, the twilight hour was almost over.

" so it's impossible then?" Tommy asked sadly " no of course not if you really want to fish a moonshine trout, Wait until the moon begins to rise and then you simply ask luna herself, be polite though, ask her for a way to get to her and if she approves of you, she will send you a way. It may be a strange way through so don't be surprised" the cat said and as the last ray of sun went down he was unable to speak but decided to keep the boy company.

As tommy waited for the moon to rise he found him self talking to the cat, he told him about his parents, his only friend jack, he had been the one to teach Tommy how to fish.

" meow" said the cat half way through the story. " hmmm?" Mumbled tommy as he followed the cats gaze, the moon was rising.

The cat nudged him towards the edge of the the peer, as if to say 'come on ask'. Tommy let out a sigh, feeling a bit crazy asking the moon to help him after a cat told him to. "Um ... Luna? If your listening, I was wondering if you could, um, help me get to you so I can catch a moonshine trout? Um I think that if I give one to my mother and father they will be happy again" he stuttered into the sky

There was nothing but silence, Tommy let out a sigh and began to sit back down, but then a a hard gust of wind gushed at him and that's when he noticed the bunch of balloons the had been caught in the tree across the road.

" you've got to be kidding me" said Tommy stare-ing at the 200 or do balloons in the lower branches of the tree. The cat shook its head and meowed at him expectingly. " uhh ok" he said as he jogged up to the tree and jumped up grabbing the strings.

No sooner then he did the balloons freed themselves and the wind began to gush towards him and despite all that his science teachers had told him, he flew up in gaining lift from the balloons and wind.

His hand were terribly sweaty and was scared that he would let go, he tied the stirrings around his wrists and closed his eyes willing himself not to look down.

When he opened his eyes again he was so close to the clouds he could almost touch them. He knew he was close, Tommy let out a sigh of relief his arm were beginning to hurt.if he kept going on for much longer he wouldn't be surprised if they fell of.

Before he could think much of the possibility of his arms dropping of a bright white light flashed in his eyes. Blinking and shading his eyes he could see the moon, or Luna as the cat called it above him only about 5 feet above him.

He hastily began Un-tieing the stings from his wrists one by one.

As he steeped on to the crescent shaped moon un-tieing the last balloons from his wrist. Slowly he sat down, taking in his surroundings most if it was cloud, swirling around him like wisps of Cotten candy.

He attached a fresh piece of bait to his lure and took a deep breath, he thrust his line out he waited a couple of seconds for his line to stop sinking into the abyss. "now all I have to do is wait" he muttered to himself. He closed his eyes and let himself drift away.

" I'm sorry I lied Tommy, but you wouldn't move on" said the cat as he looked up At the angel. "his parents divorced 2 years ago because he was gone... If that's what your wondering" the angel said to the cat who he knew was curious, but he couldn't help but glance over where his father had tried to revive the boy that afternoon 2 years ago. "If only there had been some other way-" started the cat only to be cut of by the angels icy voice "spirits aren't supposed to linger" he began to walk away. The cat began to follow but looked over to were he had talked to the spirit " they should of taught you how to swim."
