Claire's point of view~

My shift was almost over. 3:25 AM couldn't have looked any better.

My long dark brown hair whipped around my shoulder as I cleaned the bar's marble counter.

"I'd like a bourbon please."
The deep voice sounded broken, like a rope that had been cut at with a dull knife for so long it was about to snap.

"Sir, you've been here all night." I responded with how I was taught. Not to agitate the drunk, it could end badly.

"Do it. —Pour." He spoke again.
I looked at the man sitting in the last seat of the bar.

I didn't do anything. Boy, this one must love hangovers. He's here almost every other night.
Before I knew it he would be here every night and day.

"I don't know if you hear it, but that silence is deafening. The silence that should be covered up by the sound of liquor pouring into my empty glass."  He moves the glass towards me.

"what's you're name?" I ask still wiping the counters.

"Someone who still . Wants. Their . Drink.— now , pour. " he moves his glass again.

"It's almost closing time." I turn to look at the opened sign that would soon be turned to be closed.

"Well too bad we have three more minutes. Now, Pour my drink so I can sleep without interruption."

I pursed my nude pink lips.

I huffed and gabbed the bourbon. I poured his drink and slid it to his area so he could grab it.

He downed it and sighed.

"How bout that name now, hmm?" I raise my eyebrows.

"How bout you pour me another drink and I might just be drunk enough to share some of my secrets." He slides the glass back.

"Or you could show me your ID." I lean on the counter.

"Whatever cupcake—Take it." He pulls out the ID.
Ethan Dolan.
24
"Well Ethan. It's closing time." I put the bourbon back on the shelf as I make my way to the back.

My black heels clicked down the hall to the ladies room and I look in the mirror.

I always thought my appearance was alright.
5'5
Hazel eyes
dark brown hair
Olive skin, my nose and upper cheeks were sprouted with a few freckles.
I make sure I don't look like a wreck for being exhausted and head out.

I grab my keys out of my purse and turned the sign to closed. I look around once more and lock up.

I walk out and get into my white Range Rover.

Driving with the sound of faint music I see Ethan sitting on the park bench about a mile away

His head is in his hands but I recognized the black leather jacket and the dark wavy hair.

I slowed down, He certainly had me intrigued, but I knew not to mess with an alcoholic.

I sped back up and turned the volume of my music up.

Genevieve-
Claire? I called you earlier and you didn't answer but I needed you to baby sit Angela tomorrow if you're available. Please get back to me!

The message from my best friend showed up on my phone after turning it on.

She had it good, A life for herself , Husband, Adorable baby girl.

I on the other hand, just someone trying to make it out. I want to go to college soon. but right now I have to suffice on a job at the local bar.

Thank god for my mom who runs a successful job as a doctor. She helps me out so much. Hence the only reason I can afford a Range Rover.

But on the side of having my dream car I'm forced to put college to the side and get a job.
I guess I shouldn't complain though some people have it worse.

Ethan was one of those people, and I knew inside that once I step into that bar to start my shift tomorrow. Ethan would be sitting in the same spot asking for a drink.

Drowning his sorrows once again.
