A dense crowd surrounded me as I kneeled there in her lifeless arms, pools of ruby flowing from the 9mm hole in the centre of her forehead. My tears diluted the concentration of her blood. She was the only thing I had left in this world. Her and my unborn child who died along with her, inside her.
My eyes repositioned, locking on to a shiny, mint condition 9mm pistol, blood splattered over the handle, smoke floating up from the nozzle. My attention diverted to the man holding it, walking away. Gold wrist watch showing every element of time, down to the nanoseconds, black gloves and a black jacket with gold cufflinks, black pants, black hat, black gloves. He stuffed the gun into his jacket as he approached the mall elevators. I watched every step he made. Until he glanced behind him. Then I took off after him.
The thick blood on my hands made trails of splatter as I chased the man behind dark shades. He knew I was after him. He saw me, running, but he walked, slowly. As I closed in I threw people left and right. They cursed me as revenge. I didn't mind. It was fair. Besides, he was in my sights. He... WAS.
As I stretched out towards him to grab the collar of his jacket, he spun, full 360. And I was left with a full grasp... of air.
