The sound grew ever louder. You both sprang from the bed, pulled on your clothes and grabed your guns. You could hear Lupin scrambling around outside the room excitedly shouting "pops is here!"

You looked over at Jigen's leg, he was standing, just not very well. He seemed shaky and unbalanced. Walking over to him, you placed a hand on his back and told him to take it easy. "I'll cover for you, don't worry, just get ready to make a dash with me to the car, ok?" You added. He nooded, teeth bared in pain.

The thundering of feet was unmistakable. Zenigata and the police had arrived. There sounded like far more than you'd ever delt with before though. The noise made it sound like there was at least 50 officers waiting to execute Zenigata's orders.

The deranged inspector was shouting his normal spiel to Lupin through the door as the police force tried to smash it in. This was your only chance. You had to get to the car now or Jigen would never make it out in one piece, not with all those hungry officers outside your door.

Opening the window, you signalled for Jigen to make a quick exit with you. With a grunt and a growl of pain, Jigen followed you.

This was going to be tricky...

Although there were lots of them, the police only seemed to be concerned with the front of the house. This squad were never known to be the smartest of groups, you'd proven that earlier with your rather easy get-away. Only problem was, that the car was also around the front. Who knew what state it was in now Zenigata was here. For all you knew, it could have been smashed to pieces in a fit of rage or in a demonstration of what was in store for the three of you, should he get his way.

You wasn't going to risk it, no way in hell. Not with Jigen in the state he was. Even if he was healthy, it would be like walking into a cage of lions with clothes made of meat. You had to think of something else, remembering that you had to pick up Lupin in the process without him getting hurt (much to your dismay however. You were still annoyed by his unwanted entrance during your private moment with Jigen).

Even if he could be annoying at times, Lupin had unknowingly taught you how to get yourself out of tough situations. Especially ones involving Zenigata. This was no different.

You had just the right plan...
