Mistake

Amanda woke up early in the morning with a hangover from the previous night. She went clubbing at one of the local clubs in her town with a few friends to celebrate her friends last evening as a bachelor. What she didn't know was that this was going to be the last time that her close friends and her would be together as a group. They had planned that they were all going to be responsible adults as usual. It only made sense for them to do this. It had become a tradition that they would celebrate their achievements and anything good that had occurred in any of their lives. This was when they occasionally managed to get together as a whole group. They were a group of five professional independent women who were dedicated to work day and night in order to fulfill their short and long term goals.

Amanda had gone overseas to study Corporate Law at the University of Lancaster. Thando studied Graphic Design at a private institution called Landscape which specializes in different art faculties. Geraldine is one woman that never liked anything to do with academics but was very intelligent in high school which was very ironic. After matriculating she decided to take the money that she had saved up from her pocket money which she received on a monthly basis to open up a salon in her neighborhood. Leila is an outdoor woman who had decided to study Sport Science under a Bachelor of Science because she wanted to coach sports women and men. Julia had always loved academics so she furthered her studies until she received her doctorate in Anthropology which is the study of people, their customs and beliefs.

Julia's friends were excited when they heard that she was engaged with an academic. The ladies planned to have a bachelorette party for their friend as per tradition. The five ladies had all gone shopping for this special occasion in order to look elegant. Each one of them bought lovely short dresses and did their hair, nails and make up at Leila's salon which had become very popular in her home town and city.

Amanda got out of her bed and walked straight to her bathroom which was on the left hand side of her bedroom. She looked at herself in the big mirror that showed her full body. She could not recognise the person that was standing right in front of her. She was trying to remember what had transpired the previous night at Julia's party, however she could not recall anything. Amanda began to sob irrationally out of fear of the unknown. Someone started knocking on her door and she quickly wiped her tears and tried putting on a fake smile on her face to hide her sorrow from whomever it was that was behind her door. She finally opened the door without asking first who was knocking behind the door. There were two police officers standing in front of Amanda: Felicia, a tall, well built, masculine woman and a short skinny man, Denton, were looking at her in disbelief.

"Good morning, you must be Amanda."? The female officer asked Amanda.

"Hi, yes that's me...How can I help you?" She asked lazily.

"We have to take you to the police station for questioning regarding last night's events." The female officer replied.

"I don't really remember what happened officer..." Amanda said.

"You can call me Denton." The male officer said. "You can tell us what you recall from yesterday then we can take it from there."

Amanda was in no mood to argue and fight with the two officers orders. She finally invited them into her apartment and they sat on the couches. Her apartment had ice blue walls in the open plan sitting room and kitchen with matching curtains. She had white leather couches and a small wooden table in the center of her sitting room with colorful flowers in the centre of the wooden table. She had a flat screen television that was about 42 inches wide with a DVD player for movies. She had white blinds for her kitchen with white cupboards, a silver stove and a metallic microwave oven.
