i stood facing my mother who had tears in her eyes. she looked upset, but she was trying not to cry as it would ruin her perfectly done makeup.

she came towards me, and gave me the tightest hug i have ever received. she might have broken a rib or two, but i honestly didn't care, because i hugged her back even tighter.

"i'm going to miss you, Sarah" my mother sniffled as she cupped my face. "make sure to call me if anything goes wrong, or if you just want to talk. i may be going out of town because of work, but ill always make sure to have time for my baby"

"mom. i'm not your baby anymore, i'm grown" i groaned as i covered my face, as i heard her crack a chuckle.

"i know, sweetheart. but anyways, i left some money for you on the counter for food and shopping, okay?"

"yes, mom. thank you. you should leave now, or you'll miss your flight" i carried both of my mothers luggage outside, and placed them into her car.

i then faced my mother and pulled her into the last hug i'll get from her for the next few weeks, she hugged me back, before kissing my forehead over and over again.

"stay safe, okay?"

i nodded my head, as i watched her get into her car, blowing me one last kiss as she drove off.

i then noticed Chris and Gal coming out of their house, looking extremely well dressed, as they were heading for their cars, Gal noticed me, she whispered something in Chris' ear, before walking towards me, making my heart thump with each step she got closer.

i made sure to discreetly check her out. she wore black high heels, a pencil skirt and a tight blouse. her hair was let loose, and she wore a red dark lipstick on. i wonder if Chris realizes how fucking lucky he is to have Gal.

"Sarah, you've got school today, right?" Gal asked, as she stared at me intensely, making me nervous.

"y-yeah. i'm about to skate over there right now"

"can i drop you off?" she asked with a light grin on her face. "i want to make sure you'll get there safely"

"oh, um" i stopped to awkwardly clear my throat. "you don't have to do that, i can go there on my own"

"oh no, please. i would love to, now come on" she held my hand, as she led me to her car. my nerves were rising at this point, i should be used to Gal by now, but honestly, i don't think i ever will.

as soon as she started the engine, i was hoping it would be a silent ride other than me giving her directions to where my school is, but i was out of luck.

"i saw you carrying your mom's bags. is she traveling somewhere?"

"yeah. for work, she'll be gone for maybe 2 weeks"

"so you'll be all alone for two weeks?" she stared at me as she asked that question, making me feel some type of way on the inside.

"yeah, but it's all good" i said, as i nervously laughed.

"how about you and i get together at my house? i'll be at work until 6 pm and Chris is going to be gone the whole night, so we can hang out and maybe eat dinner"

i tried to tame my excitement. not only do i get to hang out with Gal, BUT Chris won't be there. FUCK YES!

i showed off a smile as i nodded my head at her. "that sounds great"

a few minutes later, we reached to my school. but i knew that since i would hang out with Gal, nothing would kill my mood, not even Donny.

"thank you for dropping me off, Gal" i thanked, but as i was about to leave her car, she placed her hand on top of my thigh.
