I opened the door and stood there. I couldn't move. He started walking down the stairs.

"Wait!" I screamed. "Scott, wait!" He instantly turned around at the sound of his name. His eyes spotted me immediately and a huge smile started forming on his face. I took one step closer to him, not sure if he was real or a creation of my wild imagination.

"Mitch?" He started walking back up the staircase slowly. I tried to speak but I couldn't make a sound. "Mitchy?" He repeated. His laugh lines faded as I didn't reply. Why can't I speak?

"Sunshine? Please talk to me. Have I done something wrong? Is that why you didn't wait for me?" I thought I saw a tear rolling down his cheek, but I wasn't sure. His face was now inches away from mine.

"Please, Mitchy, say something." He lifted his hand and cupped my face gently.

And then everything went dark.

I tried to open my eyes. My head fucking hurt. A lot. I blinked a few times before managing to fully open my eyes. I wasn't in my room. I was laying on a narrow white bed, but before I managed to inspect the room more, a man walked in. He was a doctor.

"Mr Grassi,I know that you're probably a bit confused. I'm doctor Olusola. Don't worry, you're okay, you just lost consciousness for almost thirty minutes, probably as a result of a big shock. How are you feeling?"

"Uh, I'm not sure. My head hurts a lot." Well, a lot is an understatement.

"That's because you fainted and you hit your head on the floor. Nothing to worry about though, the pain is going to go away soon." Well, I hope so. What the fuck happened? Why did I faint? I can't remember anything.

"I can't really remember what happened, Dr Olusola", I admitted. "The last thing I remember doing is laying on my bed. My memories after that are quite blurry.

"Oh, don't worry about that, the memory loss is a side effect of what happened. You're going to remember everything. Here, take these pain killers and you're ready to go, but make sure you come back at once if you feel any kind of dizziness."

"Thank you Dr." I walked out of the doctor's office and headed outside to get some air.

I ended up going to the bar to talk to Avi. As I recall, he was the last person I talked to, so maybe he could help me remember.

"Hey, Avi!" I greeted him with a half smile. My headache was still going strong.

"Hi, Mitch! What can I get you?"

"Just a glass of water, thanks." He handed me the water and I swallowed two of the pills Dr Olusola gave me.

"What's that for?", Avi asked me.

"Just some pain killers Dr Olusola gave me for my headache.", I answered simply. He smiled.

"Oh, I see you met Kevin. Yeah, I know him." He said, noticing my confused face. "He studied medicine, that's why they hired him here this summer. He doesn't normally practice medicine that much, he's a musician." , he chuckled. "And so am I. We actually came here this summer to raise some money to start our own band.", he added proudly.

"That's great!", I said. "What instruments do you guys play?"

He laughed. "We don't really play. Well, we do, but not in the band. We want it to he all acapella. I'm a bass singer and Kevin is a beatboxer."

"That is so cool! I'm a choir nerd myself! A tenor if I may add."

"Yeah, I figured. Your voice is pretty high-pitched. I love it!" I blushed. "I would really like to hear you singing some time!", he added joyfully.

"Totally, Avi. Some other time though, I have a horrible headache. Maybe I should go back to my room, but I'll see you again soon." I started walking away when I heard my name again.

"Mitch! Wait a second, I almost forgot!", Avi said, getting in front of the bar and approaching me. "There was a guy here before. He asked me to tell you to go find him when you're ready. He seemed really worried."

A guy. A guy was looking for me. I wasn't complaining, but I couldn't understand. I don't remember talking to anyone on board, except the receptionist, Avi and Kevin.

"Who was it, Avi?"

"I thought he said his name was Scott. He was blonde with blue eyes. He had just come out of Kevin's office too. He seemed to believe that you wouldn't remember him right away so he gave me this." Avi handed me a piece of paper.

"Thanks, Avi." I started walking back to my room. I got in and sat on my bed. I took out the piece of paper and unfolded it.

Mitchy,
I know you probably don't remember anything that has to do with me, because I was the reason you were in shock and fainted. I carried you to the doctor and he said that you were fine and that you'll remember everything really soon. I hope he's right, cause I missed you a lot. Come and find me only when you remember me and only when you're ready. I'll be in the room next to yours. Can't wait to see you again.

Love,
    Scott.
